There was no content restriction or service throttling for certain channels or sites. The justification for NN is bullshit because the problem it supposedly solves didn't exist in the first place. NN seeks to turn the internet into a public utility and is a big step toward that, and if that is fully accomplished, THEN you'll start seeing censorship and paywalls on a massive scale.

The issue isn't on the content providers but on ISP practices. The amount of data being transferred literally doesn't matter due to how connections are maintained and cost outside of small power fluctuations. (Protip; when you are connected you routers and modems send constant nonsense signals back and forth to verify "connection")
The deregulation of the internet and removal of NN allow ISPs to block off flow and govern traffic in a way no one wants. They could legally charge massive amounts of money to be "included" in their white-list which pushes out all small-time websites and only allows massive companies to remain unaffected.
They can just filter out anyone that doesn't pay them period, as in you won't even be able to access the site.
It also allows them to regulate what content they even accept. They could go "Family Friendly" and auto-decline all 18+ content unless you pay even more.
The content providers shilling to ISPs or not is so NOT the fucking issue here.

By doing it this way, you force people to pay for multiple streaming services and many of them can't afford them and it's not like it's a DVD you don't get a long term copy of that movie, it's temporary so the thought that you would look at it as if you're giving away money is dumb. Poor people can afford the service kind of if they're dumb enough to do so, but I would offer higher resolution streaming at a much higher cost for people who can afford higher resolution TVs.
