A lot of the popular artists, once they become popular, reduce their quality of art tenfold. They put in less effort because they get the same money, just because of their name. It's a retro hacking game. Preinternet. Takes place in the 80s when hacking began and BBSes were king. IBM PC and DOS themed. There aren't a whole lot of hacking games and the handful of hacking games out here have done really well. I believe my game is next level in presentation and gameplay so it stands to reason it will do at least as well if not better. It's funny because there's a whole wealth of just... culture and history and art in the BBS era. This is when hacking groups like The Cult of the Dead Cow and the Legion of Doom began. This is when cracking and pirating became a "scene." And some of the ANSI art was just incredible.

When your computer displays BIOS text it's usually from codepage 437. I'm pretty sure it's public domain at this point. The lapse in time aside, a lot of clone manufacturers at the time used the original bitmap and the copyright decays when you don't defend it.
