The way it works is that higher-caliber individuals are rewarded with more work.
Why would you entrust a goldbrick with thousands of dollars worth of equipment when there's a reliable worker who will manage it for you properly?
So naturally all the goldbricks have zero responsibilities and have to put in zero effort into their daily work, whereas the 20% of us who do actually know what the fuck we're doing are busting our asses off trying to run a department meant for a workforce 4 times our size.
And the 20% get the same fucking pay as the 80%. Sometimes even less!

In S.Korea and in this God-forsaken hellhole, conscription has the same aesthetic as a 16th birthday. It's expected and is widely commemorated.
Except in SK where people are respected for genuinely putting in effort and having a service tour worth being proud of. Here it goes both ways. Goldbricks are condemned by the public since they're shaming the good name of the military service. Yet simultaneously those who actually do their best in these 2 years also are condemned, since they're seen as suck-ups and bootlickers.
So either way you are fucked by the public for having served regardless of how well you did, yet if you get a section eight and are exempted from service, the public condemns you even more because they see it as unfair that you don't have to serve yet everyone else has to.
Bottom line is you are fucked whichever way you go or don't go.
