I think that everyone needs to tip and that any server whether it be a delivery driver or in a fancy restaurant or ihop, they deserve a fair tip. Not only are they putting themselves out there to provide a service to you, while receiving less than minimum wage. But they are depending on that tip sometimes to help them earn a "fair" wage. Even I tip, and at least 20% most of the time and if the service sucks I still ripped but I will only tip like ten percent. The thing with delivery is that I believe they automatically should get 20% minimum due to the fact that they have to maintain a multi thousand dollar vehicle in order to continue delivering and in some cases purchase concealed carries and etc. in case a time comes that they have to protect themselves.

I go through tires, bearings, rotors, brakes, coil packs, spark plugs, etc. 10x faster than anyone who doesn't use their car for work. I don't care if I'm not tipped, not everyone can spare, but since I know how it is on the other end, I tip.

Assuming the pizza got there in a timely manner and was in good condition, I'd give him a 20% tip ($3.96 which I'd round up to $4.00) and let him go on his merry way.
I want the pizza guy to get a decent wage. That means I either have to A) have the price of the pizza itself go up, or B) have his job be tip dependent. I opt for the latter because it gives me a sense of control (since I ultimately decide how much to give) and him an incentive to do his job properly. And before anyone say, "Well, he should just do his job properly regardless of whether he gets a tip or not," I'd like to remind you that we don't live in the land of "should". There a lots of things that "should" be this way or "should" be that way, but they aren't, and part of life is learning how to deal with that.

In the winter months I generally have 4-6 carries per run. Sometimes 8-10. I know who tips, and who does not. In the winter time there's generally a 30 minute delay between when the food is ordered and when it is ready to go. Sometimes this is as high as 60 minutes if there's a 40 minute queue. That's when it's really bad.
Your stiff vs $2 tip could mean the difference between waiting 40 minutes and 1hr 20 minutes. Depending on how busy, maybe even 2 hours. You had better believe I deliver stiffers last.
