Throughout most of my schooling I was in advanced classes and as a child would read nonfiction and watch educational programs for fun. At some point in highschool however my drive went downhill fast and since then I have not been able to put much effort into anything. Nothing fascinates me like the world did when I was a child, most things I don't immediately understand how they work only take a couple of minutes of tinkering with to understand, but alas that too brings me no satisfaction.
I only admit this since I'm an anon on /b/, day to day life I attempt to hide my intellect, most people pawn problems off to the smart guy and the responsibility and pressure that comes with those makes me uncomfortable. The only times I show it is when I see people I care for are in trouble or if being silent will cause me extra strain or stress. Brief CV: went to MIT (physics, math, biology, chemistry) then Johns Hopkins (MD, PhD, MPH). Currently working with my MD one, but I do a lot of math and programing still. about intelligence it's ok to seek for "super-intelligence" but the first step i t to define intelligent... not a simple work event best exprerts don't know exaclty how to define it.

There is this lady who despite not being very well educated or intelligent herself, she runs a local education center for adult learners. However, she is incredibly hard working and a truly gentle soul.
I heard about their organization from one of the undergrads at my lab, and have volunteered to teach a class once a month. I always bring (somewhat healthy) food as incentive to the students and extra help to the organization.
Some time ago I did a "lecture" on evolution and talked about dragons. Later that day I spoke with her, and told her that I really like them. After the following lecture she gave me a book about dragons, signed by most people at the organization as a thank you: "Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons". I leave it somewhat hidden in my office, as a little risky easter egg.
I have plenty more examples, a lot of them are patients who showed incredible character at tough times, or just handled things in a very admirable way.
