My main gripe about the remake is that pennywise is too overtly scary in appearance. Tim Curry pennywise still looked creepy, but in a more subdued way. Curry still managed to convey being a clown. Skarsgard is basically just a maniac in a clown suit.

Similarly, I didn't really care for the bits about Pennywise, the Deadlights, etc. Not only is it unnecessary monologue, but it kind of detracts from the mystique.
