Of course global warming is occuring. It has been for a long time. The Earth slowly goes through drastic temperature changes over thousands and thousands of years. When dinosaurs roamed, the average temp was much higher than today in fact. Then the Earth slowly cools down so low it goes into an ice age. This has been shown via geological analists. The contributions to that (warming) by homo sapiens currently, is miniscule.
And if the security of the Earth is your concern, well then....
You should be more worried about why it takes 1,800 gallons of water to make just 1 pound of beef. Compound this with the exponential growth rate of the population across the planet, and in 50-75 years, we're going to start having some real problems.

I don't think anyone denies this. There are ice age/warming trend cycles, and there are more long term cycle with the wobble of our orbit/axial tilt, and then there's the even longer term changes as the land masses change, mountain ranges go up creating deserts and wet zones, mountain ranges erode away causing the opposite. Current technology does not allow for us to have any real effect on that change up or down in any meaningful way. Any effect we have would require massive effort over centuries, result in minuscule results, and be entirely temporary in the grande scheme of things.
Really all this issue comes down to is "my team vs your team". It's another non-issue with no solution. It's just fodder to keep the plebs arguing and voting.

They are comparing changes during the last 100 years with changes during the last 100,000 years which we have atmospheric records in Antarctic ice. Nobody says that changes don't happen but that they never happened this quickly.
Global warming is a part of the climate change. The name was not changed, there was new umbrella term to cover all other changes that are happening besides just the warming, which is still the largest change.
Emissions from fossil fuels are provably the reason why there's so much CO2 in the atmosphere. So much CO2 is very likely (looking at millions of years old records) the reason why climate is warming.
Plants do indeed thrive and they will remove the CO2 eventually - in a hundred thousand years or so what we pumped in about a hundred.

The global temperatures by area have changed over the course of history, we have had ice ages and warmer periods. Now, people think they know everything of the functionality of this planet from less than 170 years of recorded temperatures.

"Industrial revolution" happened before this but mass manufacturing of cars started pretty much right when that graph starts going upwards. Still, only by 1 degree celsius in that time. It doesn't seem so alarming to me yet. Still, some areas of the world are experiencing the worst draughts and heat in recent memory while other areas have had the coldest summers in the same time span.
I dare say that this is indeed a global event but not a change but a shift.
There is this thing about earths axis rotating in two ways in about 4000 and 10000 year cycles. I won't bother explaining it because of reasons but that has been measured and found accurate and we know last ice age was around 10000 years ago so maybe, just maybe this current shift is just a natural phenomenon.
Changes happen on earth. At some point in time grand canyon had water in it. What happened? Something changed. Who is to say things can't change again? Some dumb asshole most likely. One of those who want to keep everything just the way it is now.
Finally, I'd like to mention that my specticism of all this is mostly based on the business side of environmental thinking. Huge corporations are pulling mad cash from states funding so it would be logical for them to have lobbyists spreading mass panic to protect their interests. It's most definitely a business and a booming one at that.
