You may not be aware of this but you don't really have to fly very well if you aren't doing anything but hitting a building. They didn't take over the plane, go on a cross country trip, land, take off, land again, gas up and then go run it into the towers. Generally there isn't a lot to flying a plane these days, the pilots just have to be good for when shit goes wrong, like crazy landings, dealing with weather, etc.
