I don't know much about all-grain, but you can use kits that have most of the ingredients mixed in a can, and doing that is easy. Although you have to keep the temperature steady for a few weeks, but the end result is almost always worth the wait.
I make my own beer because I live in Turkey, and alcohol is horribly taxed here. Brewing at home costs about 1/3 of buying the cheapest beer for me. Also, our beer companies don't make anything other than pilsner, so there is also the variety bonus of homebrewing.

It will be a permanent but seasonal feature in our lineup. The reason for naming the beer is it tends to be an easier sell once it hits the market. We don't bottle or can but we run like a packaging facility, so it will be on at bars across Chicago on tap.

If you're going to sell it, then it's not worth it, you won't have a market. If you're going to drink it yourself and enjoy it with friends, it's very rewarding. Go for it, my dad was making beer for years before I started. Granted, you won't be able to construct the perfect beer without experience and skill, but that's part of the fun. I'd love to make something like belgian trappiste beers, but I'm nowhere near that good.

I took an honors class on brewing in college and did a fair share of extract brews. It's fun to do and as long as you don't fuck it up you have a ton of good beer.
My midlife crisis will be to get all of the equipment and set-up to do all-grain in my basement or garage. The set up is more expensive and it's more work, but you can completely control the outcome with an all-grain. I've help a few buddies and the results were fantastic.
I've also made a number of wines, with mixed results. My favorite was a triple cherry port that we aged for 2 years.

Dealing with distributors is absolutely the worst issue we deal with as a brewery. Most of the naming process for our beers comes from myself and the rest of our staff tipping a few back and coming up with stuff we think is funny. A lot of it after movies or bands we enjoy. Where do you work anon?

Its fairly simple and doesn't really require that much of an investment to get started. Brooklyn Brew Shop sells a complete brewing kit among others that make it even simpler to start. They also sell brew packs that come with certain kinds of grains and hops to make a specific kind of beer. I started with them to learn how the basics and what not but go to local brewery shop now to get the grains and other various shit you'll need to make your "type" of beer.
The only thing to consider is that brew day will literally be brew day, it takes something like 6 hours to fully brew a 1~2 gallon batch for me anyway. Also you need to be VERY clean about your work station and properly sanitize your equipment or you'll skunk your beer. Outside of that its so simple that you'll almost certainly have your own batch the first time around (and itll come out pretty good too), but allows tons of room for growth and investment into bigger better equipment. So whether you're rich or poor you can get into brewing.

Save up dark brown bottles (twist off ones don't work). Wash them in a dishwasher without using detergent. Buy a $20 hand press and some caps. Like $5 for 100 or something like that. If your brew was clean and your bottles are kept safe it should last AT LEAST a year. But if you bottle-carbonate you don't want the beer sitting on that sediment that long anyway.
