They did not age well at all. In fact they look like complete shit and also play out like complete shit In retrospect. At least beast wars season 1. Seasons 2 thru final actually were alot better. Even if they werent great. Neast machines the direct sequel to beast wars. Played out kinda shit. But not too shitty. Just kinda on the edge there between total shit and shitty but good.
I'm trying to remember a cartoon I saw a few episodes of as a kid. This might be hard as I have nearly no details.
It was a standard team action show, in a city. I can't remember any of the characters or even the premise, other than that I believe the villain had something or other to do with slime, or chemicals, or something. The scene transition effect was always green slime hitting the screen.
Not much to go on but that's what I remember.

Shit you not one saturday morning right after tmnt. The eppisode of that show we cant remember the title of was the exact same as the tmnt episode that came before it. Line for line. Shot for shot. Frame for frame. Was the exact same shit. With different characters.

Ok, it's not remotely obscure, but fuck it, I watched it religiously as a kid, so I'll post it.
Weird way I got into it, too. I was a Pokemon diehard, and other kids at school told me Digimon was a terrible knockoff of it. Being the fanboy I was, I checked out an episode to see how bad it must be compared to my beloved Pokemon.
It ended up happening to be a pretty important episode, so I was almost disappointed that it really didn't seem bad at all. Then the ending of the episode ended with a cliffhanger story revelation, and I was shocked to learn that this show in fact, had an ongoing plot, and things happened in it, instead of just episodic stuff with no plot like Pokemon. Ended up getting hooked on the damn show and loving it ten times more than Pokemon.
Figures.

I did. I had this weird thing about disliking sequels or continuations back then. I always wanted to stick with the original. Games, cartoons, etc.
So I never took to Adventure 02 as much. I still watched it but I never loved it.
Tamers on the other hand, I couldn't get enough of, after the initial shock of it being a reboot story wise. Actually the reboot part probably helped, because with Adventure 02 I always just felt like I wished the original cast were the main characters instead of being side characters. Tamers being a total reboot with a new story and characters got me over that sequel dislike bump, and it helped that it was awesome in its own right.
Such a tease of a show. Thinking it will have some nudity, but never did.

Beastwars on the other hand is a fucking masterpiece. The story is great and ties in neatly with the original g1/2 story line. its CGI in season 2/3 is also on par if not better than a lot of cgi television shows for kids these days.

I loved this as a child. I tried to watch it not that long ago but found it over dramatic and the pacing was really slow. As were the fights; they just talk and then one charges his attack while the other stands there like an idiot and stares.

I can't speak for the American version; but where I live TV networks never seemed to think a whole lot about child nudity. Digimon was hardly an isolated case. There was Doraemon, Dragon Ball, Shin Chan, Akira, and Megumi-chan something. Those are at the top of my head; but there were plenty of examples.
