All I can do is try to cope until I either work up the nerve to talk with them or we're at a con together with friends and we can both get fucked up and squash our beefs, bury the hatchet, and wipe the slate clean.

Honestly I don't know. But if my communication class taught me a few things its that if you can do face to face communication you should, and I feel like I'm better at talking with people face to face than online. Or at least easing my way into a difficult situation or trying to make small talk.
An email or tweet is just as easily ignored too but talking and sitting down can't be. It's uncomfortable but you can't ignore it that way.
The other thing is that I wouldn't want to ruin either of our con experiences by doing it. It's really a rock and a hard place.
I don't think that talking would do anything serious, either in person or online. It would just be more of the same, I make an asshole out of myself and he still doesn't like me. Or we make amends but no change really comes of it because it's so awkward.
