I don't honestly see how anyone can claim to be a "good soraka". The skills to play soraka are the same exact skills that are required to play the vast majority of supports. So if you're a good soraka you should by necessity be a good support player in general.

The only tell to me that someone is shit at soraka is in her silences. Q's can be thrown around willy nilly who gives a fuck if it hits or misses, it's more a game to play against than a game for the soraka to play skillfully.
Silence timing and placement tells wonders about the mechanical skill and practice of a soraka player. Not that it's ACTUALLY all that fundamental and necessary for her impact upon the game.

Kassadin is significantly farther from my style. Leaps and bounds away from something I would play.
I don't pick my support champions to make flashy outplays or cool bullshit. I pick them to be effective at enabling my teammates to do their jobs. More traditional supports will do this better than gimmicky shit like veigar support. Hence janna being first by a long shot, she is simply efficient at the support role - safe warding, great disengage, and solid enabling.

I played about 2-3 years of LoL before switching to Dota, it honestly only takes about 5-10 games for it to click in your head and to start getting the hang of it, especially if you already have experience with MOBA's. Just smash that mutha fucking random button until you find a hero you like, then spam them until you learn the other basic concepts of the game.

I mean I'm good at Zilean, but he is legitimately a stupid champion. He shuts down tons of picks just with his E alone. His Laning is iffy, and you rely on team comp more than most picks, but his utility is ridiculous.
Hell even in competitive, there were games where a Zilean pick essentially made the game 10x harder to lose just because of his ult and slows.
There's a reason he always has a 51+ percent winrate my dude. If you grind out maybe 10 games on him you will be comfortable enough to carry yourself out of whatever elo hell you're in.

No that's ridiculous, there are DOZENS of champions which are a ton of fun to play which don't fit the meta or have bad matchups in the meta.
It makes perfect sense to play them in normals where it doesn't matter if you win, since you will likely win less with them than your meta mains.
For exmaple I love teemo, definitely my favorite champion in the game. From being a piece of shit to traps to hiding to blinding and laughing I just love him. However he is a legitimate liability for your team, and I would NEVER play him in ranked no matter how much fun I have with him

First off, I have a different mentality in normals than in ranked.
In normals, It DOESN'T matter if you win. It's a video game, it's supposed to be fun. I have fun playing many champions which are not meta, and I will do so in normals since it's fun.
In ranked, sure people care a lot more and so do I so I'm not busting out the teemo mid in ranked.
But really it doesn't even matter if you choose a weak champion and lose some games, your mmr will go down and you will play vs worse people. So it all evens out to 50% in the end anyways. You can't win every game regardless of who you play, only the level of player which you get a 50% win rate against will change. Unless you are at the very top or the very bottom. Which I'm not, I'm dead average at league

Support plays a significantly different game than the rest of the roles. Being good at support does not transition well to other roles (and vice versa), but the other roles (with jungle as a moderate outlier) tend to develop similar skills.

Been there played that matchup (on both ends, leo is my favorite counterpick to blitz, and i play her more often anyways). Don't throw hooks (barring blatant mistakes), make the leona play passive to defend against hooks. Leona is an aggressive-leaning support, so they won't be getting what they want. Blitz doesnt want the 2v2, but he will punish engages. Basically, the first to pick the fight is in the shitty position in the entire scenario, with a slight lean towards leona.

How it goes down with proper play:
Leona engages on adc: blitz hooks leona off, adc walks away having taken a chunk of damage.
Leona engages on blitz: blitz exhausts enemy adc, walks away, having almost died (blitz shouldnt be in a position for leo to engage on in a pretty fashion, this should be absolutely the least likely scenario).
Blitz engages on leona: blitz or adc dies, catastrophic result
Blitz engages on enemy adc: leo goes in, still probably wins 2v2.
Essentially, no one should want to engage, because those that do tend to not get what they want out of it. Junglers matter a lot in the matchup, and the adc champs of course.

You guys should try dota. Honestly i played leauge for about 2 years and got to plat and i realized that i was stuck playing the "meta" and permabanning the same champs over and over literally using only about 10 of the 15 viable heros at the time. Also the itemization roles and lanes were the same as well everygame so it got stale eventually and it will for you too just give it time. I used to rip on dota all the time but i gave it a shot and after seeing that its actually more in depth and no games are the same everyone is unique. While there is somewhat of a meta in dota its not as in your face and punishable if you dont follow it like in leauge. Literally every hero in dota can be played in every single game and they are, no matter who you choose even though there are still counters you can always outplay and outsmart your opponent. In leauge it felt more of a vice where if you played someone out of meta or not even relevant then youll get stomped and recieve a toxic experience (we still get that in dota but its mostly in another language so it dosent carry as much impact) in my honest opinion in leauge every patch there are few op heros because of buffs and nerfs they they get permabanned everygame but in dota every hero is op even the items are op. Blink dagger is a 12 second flash, sheep stick has a 4 second hex with a 25 second cooldown. Dota has by far more actives then leauge will ever have and its not always the same build for every carry or support you build for the situation (you can say that for leauge too but not as versitile as dota) i dont bash on either games but dota too me is far superior in terms of gameplay mechanics and is very very rewarding when you play it right and win and even if you lose you always learn something new no matter. If it dont make sense what im writing im typing on my phone so sorry :/

You literally can flash out of his whole combo when he jumps at you. Way more counterplay than what lb gives you. Her time to kill went from 0.3 seconds to stunning 0.5 seconds. Awesome.....
