Second, why don't you look for an msg app for your phone? WhatsApp is pretty huge where I live and even if it shares data with Facebook, you don't need a fb acc to use it.
The app is just about msging people, no bullshit like crying on fb walls or posting pictures of perfect lifes.
After that, off you go on real life to get the numbers of the people you care, start making some connections and expand your social circle. At least that is what I did and is working just fine.
