As for Sheppy's doorstep fluffy, The guy has probably had his yard wrecked before or had other bad experiences with fluffies. He's built up a prejudice to them so it doesn't matter if this particular one would be the best pet ever, he's already decided he's not going to find out.

The fluffy is not that man's responsibility or concern, he has no reason to care for it. If it were a mole or a rabbit doing the same thing, it is understood the man has a right to kill them. In the case of fluffies, which aren't protected by any sort of animal rights' law, he can do whatever he pleases no matter how cruel.
He's not being an asshole, he's making a warning concerning defending what is his. Humans are territorial and we consider everything that is within the place we consider home - our houses - to be of our property to do as we please; even the plants growing on it, or garbage littered on the floor. Deal with it.

For me, the one thing I don't understand is the mindset of the people that they immediately escalate to brutal retaliation/abuse rather than attempting to remove or deter them nonviolently (live traps, plants that smell/taste bad to animals such as mints, actually securing their fucking yards with fences).
I mean, surprise, surprise, an artificially created pet with the intelligence of a child and the ability to speak actively wants to fulfill the purpose for its creation by being someone's pet rather than having scrounge for a little bit of food to make it to the next day.

You have to understand that in the fluffyverse, fluffies DON'T have the natural right to exist in the first place and a lot of people treat them that way.
