Here's the best easiest BBQ recipe you'll ever have. Take a pork shoulder, cover liberally in salt and pepper, put in crock pot, add your choice of brand root beer (I use IBC) until you hit the level of 2/3 the meat, and put a Hershey bar on top. Cook this on low for at least 6 hours adding root beer as needed. After cooking pull meat out of juice and shred in large bowl. This will be easy as shit as it will fall apart. Allow to cool to the point you can touch it comfortably. Then add your choice sauce. I use Sticky Fingers Memphis sweet. This is the best damn BBQ you will ever have.
