true, small family businesses that need to essentially spread propaganda in order to sell their inferior product.

The concept that just because humans tamper with something it is inherently worse than what "nature" gives us is absolutely pathetic. Get the fuck over it.

Also that difference in boiled eggs is one that is between soft and hard boiled about 2-3 minutes overcooking a hard boiled egg. Probably from the same exact fucking batch of eggs.

>>
It's actually not enitrely bad to eat GMO foods. In fact, humans have been slowly selectively breeding crops, which is essentially the process of GMO. Most organic and non GMO foods are in fact worse for the environment, as they are less efficient as nitrogen absorption, putting additional strain on land, which means we have to create more farms and more fertilizer for the same food. GMO is not inherently bad- we have been doing it for thousands of years.

GMO'S can be dangerous tho, not because of toxins or ill effects on humans but because of the dangers of creating a mono-culture, where every crop is of the same species and has identical DNA. If said species would be weak to a certain disease or parasite they could all be wiped out. Leaving us with no food.
Other then that there are no dangers.

You are literally this fucking dumb.

If you want to prove a point about eating properly, tell people to learn to GROW their own food, even inside their apartments. LED grow lights are no longer just for junkies and potfags who want to inhibit society. I grow basil, tomatoes, green onions, and potatoes in my INDOOR greenhouse. And I have 5 avocado trees growing, currently 2 years old.

It's actually pretty easy given the amount of quality farmland we have.
The hard part is keeping the local tin pot dictators from stealing said food before it gets to those starving people.
And even that isn't too hard. We just don't have the political will to conquer vast swaths of Planet Earth anymore, especially if the only justification we have is feeding starving people.

Organic is pricey and lame for shit that's just the same quality, and similar treatment.

Monocultures can happen with or without GMO's indeed. However GMO's do encourage monculture because of the possebility of making a "super crop" one species that is perfect for what we want. This was also a strong-arm method to sue people who "ended up with their patented product growing in their fields" due to wind and cross pollination. I had a friend lose a farm after he was sued for this vary situation and he is now working full time at a shit job and probably will die before he can retire because of what they took from him.

Their patents were designed to remove competition, not just to force contracted farmers to keep buying the seeds.

Artificial selection is the same as a GMO
>>713494685
Breeding is to amplify certain traits which lay on genes. Isnt that gene manipulation in your eyes?
>>
>>713495410
No, it's not the definition of genetic engineering you want it to be, so you throw your toys out of your pram. Selective breeding is a way of MODIFYING the GENETICS of the species in question, the language really is quite self explanatory.

>>
>>713492128
Complete bs.
Older societies relied on different preservation methods that are still used today, but not out of necessity: curing, dehydration, fermentation and pickling.

They also ate more partially rotten food than we do, because there sometimes wasn't a choice. Hell, the majority of ethnic foods are a result of limited or stale food met with spice and innovation.

They also starved a lot more, don't forget about that one.

>you want it to be
you mean the fucking definition of the term itself?
im not against you. i am pro GMO. but breeding has just nothing in common with genetic engeneering.
one is letting animals have sex. and the other is performed ex vivo in a fucking labratory.
you cant breed animals to shine in the dark. but we can do it with Genetic engeneering. we can put genes it organsims that shoudnt be there. breeding is just highlighting or erasing genes they allrady have

Also, the "organic" labeled food comes out of the same field/farm as the regular shit. It's sprayed with the same pesticides/shot with the same hormones as the regular shit, it's still picked by the same mexican who didn't wash his hands after taking a shit in the porta-john... it's just a marketing gimmick.

Are you seriously this stupid?

Go read about BT corn (it kills butterflies, btw), glyphosate (in your own blood as a result of gmo herbicide-resistant plants), mass suicides in India due to desertification of the land caused by depletion of soil and economic domination by Monsanto via gmo self-terminating seeds and poor fertilization techniques (which Monsanto continues to profit from).

I don't give a fuck about that website, and have never heard of it before I just googled why you are a faggot.

The fact that you ignore the real argument at hand in favor of attacking someone for no good reason shows your true colors.

You are legitimately retarded. Most of what you're talking about is done through selective breeding. Think about it, do you really think that every single seed, crop, and animal are put under a microscope to have their genes individually tinkered with, or does it make more sense that you would introduce the gene to a population and breed it true?
>>
>>713492128

Yeah. I eat some Organic some GMO foods. I've farmed with my grandpa and we plant GMO canola and wheat. The rapeseed is actually like a fluorescent blue and we spray tons of chemical on it so that certain weeds local to our land won't take it out. That's on top of fertilizer which is a mix of Nitrogen, potash and something else that I forgot.

I understand the meme of anti-GMO, but it has been done for years like one anon said of just planting the best seeds. I wonder if some of these people are referring to a stance more along the lines of: I do not like to eat foods that are processed or foods that have tons of preservatives or random additives that I cannot even pronounce. I'm totally behind that, I don't want to eat that shit either.
>>
>>713495131
Actually, selective breeding exactly equals gene manipulation. It's just an incredibly slow, inefficient, unpredictable, scattergun approach to gene manipulation.

Learn to science.

it isn't the GMO itself (even though it could be) it's the peaticides they use. The make GMO's resistant to strong chemicals that would kill everything but the GMO. That's the real problem. It is stupid to go 100% against GMO, but trusting them without knowing is stupid too.
