Actually, I got cut down a shift, because whenever this shit happens and I have to cover, it means I'd go over my hours for the week, so I'd have to cut hours from other shifts to balance it out. So now its easier to just assume something's going to happen and leave a shift open to act as a floater. Almost had to do it on Sunday, but got stuck and couldn't get to work.

I remember the first student show I was in. My classmates were so used to the sort of boring sketchy still lifes and landscapes that we were required to do for class, but this show was dedicated to our independent work. I had a few early experiments hanging in the show, and some classmates went and saw them. And how it was reported back to me by my professor was that they were shocked and very enthusiastic about my paintings. That's one of my good memories.
