I couldn't save myself because before I was saved I was completely certain I was going to Hell. I knew because of my shame, I was so ashamed of myself and filled with guilt that often made me cry for hours before going to sleep. That was part of what pushed me to look at how to go to Heaven. I think I deserve Hell... and I think everyone does. And this free gift is for everyone, and it is given by God's grace. Grace is when someone not only forgives, but blesses after they forgive.
