you have to have balls to catch the pokemans but the pokestops dont give you anywhere close to enough balls to catch even half of the pokemans you run into.

the battle is pointless. even more so if you arent playing with a large group of friends, or if you dont have a lot of time to devote to the game.
now that steady players are up into the lvl 30's with many pokemans at 2k+ cp casual players like myself have no practical chance of doing anything at a gym. I cant take over a lvl 10 gym by my self with my limited assortement of much lower level pokemans.

even pidgeys often take 3 or 4 balls to catch and then sometimes run away.
And I have it good, there is a...facility near my house with 12 stops located around it's perimeter that I can collect from while constantly driving around it to fill my bag with balls.
If I couldnt do that I dont think I would get near as much pokemans as I do now.

Exactly the same reason I couldn't get into Ingress. But I was lucky and was playing it from the very get go of it's release in NZ. So I managed to get high up and dominate quickly. At my old place there were 3 stops by the nearby tourist rest stop and I'd get roughly 3-5 balls per stop if balls is what I was getting. And I was lucky that rare shit spawned near and in my house all the time. Just boasting here a little but I was probably one of the first people in the world to get a dragonite, and that's not an exaggeration either.
