Pupper is getting put down in an hour and a half. He's 11. He started stumbling a month ago and it got progressively worse and he can't hardly walk anymore.

Worst few weeks of my life were awaiting the results of the biopsy of the tumor to determine if it spread to the rest of her body. It didn't. It was benign. I made my peace, cried like a fag giving her my final bit of fuss and came home. Mom n dad made the appointment to take her to the vet the next day at 3.
Cue the next day, call home to tell dad to give her one pat on the head from me and he bursts into tears saying she passed in her sleep that morning. It's like she knew. She must have been like 'fuck you bitches, I'm going on my own terms'.

I had mine put down about 6 months ago, he followed me everywhere his entire life. If I moved to do anything he was right there.
He had the issue with his back (forgot the name), he lost most of the use of his back legs and he would be so upset when I went to make a cup of coffee or whatever and he couldn't come. Would whine to the point I had to carry him with me (was a lab too).
His back legs were almost like stilts, he would be wobbling and if he fell he would just sit there upset and unable to get back up. I put up with him like this for a long time, he was making a terrible mess and it upset him. In the end I realized this wasn't good for him or me.
Just spend the last few hours with him, give him lots of attention and make him feel good. A nice treat, something to really make him feel good.
You're his whole world, give him what he wants most. Also please stay with him when he passes because he should not pass with strangers, I was with my boy when he slipped away and went limp in my arms and although it was horrible for me, I'm glad I did it for him. He will always feel safest and most contented with you, you're his whole world and it's fitting that you would be there to comfort him when he leaves.

I've heard this plenty of places but I'm also told its fake, in any event, I've been told that smaller dogs live a bit longer because there isnt as much stress on their joints and circulatory system because there's less surface area and weight to service. In any event, I've got a pupper now. He's an old man, 13 years old, still plenty spry though. I'm 22, I got him when I was 10. He's the best dog ever and I love him to death. I can't imagine life without him and I know I'm going to have to come to terms with that some day sooner rather than later. I've had a lot of fun times with the little fella and he sleeps with me pretty much every night. I'm sorry to hear about your dog man, it's rough losing pets. I had to put down my 16 year old cat a year or so ago, that was rough as hell. Take care man, remember the good times and appreciate them knowing that your dog loved it about 100x as much as you. Rest assured knowing I'm going to take it way worse when my little Burton dies. He's a good boy, and his still doing really well, bless you man, you're in my prayers today.

I will give my pupper some extra attention tonight for sure. Had scared me when he ruptured a disk in his back a few months ago. I caught it quick and he ended up having to get surgery, but after 2 months hes doing really well. I let him chase a squirrel the other day, was pretty awesome seeing him run again after 2 months of bed rest. Just hit 11 years, hopefully with plenty more happy ones ahead.

At one point, she was unable to move. Every time she'd get up she'd collapse. Ended up peeing on herself. We were going to consider putting her down, but the doctors ended up giving her steroids of some sort in August and ever since she's been moving fine again, even though she's very old. I'm grateful I still have time with her. I love her fat belly.
