Where my early 90s industrial metal at
>>712369566
I bought a Demanufacture t-shirt a few years ago and it's still one of my favorites, even if I weened off FF entirely. It's just such a badass cover.
>>712369638
I've listened to Into the Dark Past and it was pretty damn good.
not only was the the debut from one of the best Brutal technical Death metal bands out there, but this album provides the first rendition of a traditional "breakdown" and more or less singlehandedly birthed the brutal technical death metal genre into popularity.
not to mention the sick cover art done by Dan Seagrave, which this album also made him popular around the death metal scene

>>712370413
Those two albums came out when metal was at it's worst. Accient of Birth is the best album of 1997, and The Chemical Wedding is the best of 1998.

So the thread title should say 'wannabe god tier albums, but dont really stand out enough to get noticed'
Yes. Lots of these albums are very good but there has to be a line in the sand somewhere for god tier. Kyuss is definately on the mortal side of that line no matter how much you stamp your feet.
>>712370559
Whoracle came out in '97, Sound of Perseverance in '98, so no.
.......still waiting
>>712370677
Accident of Birth without a doubt.

it's coz of retards like this that upcoming bands dont get limelights
>oh but they arent famous as compared to metallica/pink floyd/ led zeppelin/ whatever, so they mustnt have good music or genre defining music, so they arent gods
Well, to put it properly, there are nearly 50 well defined genres right now and there are bands that excel in those genres better than what bands like pink floyd/led zep/tallica/sabbath did in their eras, but the nutjobs who dont like exploring genres say it aint god tire coz they use other genre's old bands as benchmark
TL;DR your logic is more retarded and regressive than my grandad's ash
