If you could see inside my head at this point, you'd see a balance scale. On one side, this mare and her foal really were cold and wet. They'd obviously not eaten in a while either.
On the other side, a properly bathed fluffy smells like dusty carpet or dry cardboard. Not a horrible smell. A ~wet~ feral fluffy smells like a wet dumpster fire. No way in HELL am I letting THAT shit walk into my nice clean house. There was also the fact that my popcorn was now cooling, my drink warming and my movie not getting watched because of her. All of these things tipped the balance toward the "NO" end of the scale.
I slipped on one of my shoes, wound up and yelled "BOOT TO THE HEAD!!" while delivering the hardest kick I could to the mare's jaw. She flipped backward off of the step and landed on the front sidewalk. The porch light revealed a white piece of bone sticking out of her cheek. I'd broken her jaw and sealed both her and her foal's fate. Unable to eat, she couldn't produce milk for the foal. Soon enough, she'd starve to death as well.
Job done, I slipped off my shoe, closed the door and went back to watching my movie. I smiled and almost laughed. Underneath the sound from the movie and through the front door, I could hear the mare and her foal crying.
