Well, quantum mechanics basically says that it is impossible to know BOTH the exact velocity and position of any particle. The more you know of its position, the less you know of its velocity and vice-versa. That's where some people believe a lot of the randomness comes in.
Apart from that, we cannot predict with perfect accuracy the products of particles breaking down into components (ie: A could break down into xyz or qr, but there's no way for US to know for sure).
Basically, the limitations place upon us by existing in this same 4D universe is what produces randomness. If we were to know the EXACT state (position and velocity) of every particle in the universe at any point in time, and also have the perfect laws of physics, then we should, in theory, be able to predict the universe's future and past.

I got my GED l4 years ago and I'm doing really well. I never went past the second grade, either. Just make sure you're actually, truly interested in your major. Sure, it was hard getting through the border of the required history/english/etc courses, but I just made sure I had at least one class I really enjoyed per semester, and I listened to plenty of audiobooks about physics to keep myself interested. It's good to remind yourself of the reason that you're taking all the math classes.
Just make sure you find interesting professors who love their subject and you're golden.

The laws of physics don't make any distinction between "before" and "after". Time is another dimension of our universe. What gives time a direction is entropy. To put it simply, entropy always increases. Entropy is greater today than it was yesterday because it was greater the day before. It's really weird.
Look into the light cone, too. It basically says that you are always moving through Spacetime at a constant rate. The more you move through time, the less you move through space (the slower you move, the slower time is for you). Conversely, the more you move through space the less time you move through.

Doesn't he act of observation change the position of the particle. The imperfection of human design dictates when observation takes place not presumptuous determined position. The mistakes are random so the observation is random. Ultimately the universe looking at itself changes it. Not to mention how much dark matter and dark energy there is.
