Oh Boy
Man, I love driving the Dodge Charger in The Crew, reminds me of the days when I used it as my main in NFS: Undercover.
What's wrong with you guys?

The new age is both beneficial and burdensome to us all, but are you sure you're not just being a pussy? It's amazing the clusterfuck of words they come up with these days for every little action. Are you sure you're stuck in this system with no way to free your mind?
>>711825947
Depression, anxiety, likely borderline personality disorder, and horrible sleeping problems.

Mmmmm, a "cavity", how long was that tong?

I hit all the marks on the dsm, and have a couple associated disorders such as trichotillomania
While I may have a genetic predisposition towards the disorder, I have no doubt that it's largely due to some incompatibility between my upbringing and the general expectations of the society I am immersed in
I attempted to 'function' in society through the use of modern pharmaceuticals, but after some soul searching I found that I would really prefer to simply limit my interactions with the rest of society as much as possible. Currently working on cultivating skills and saving the capital necessary to make a quiet and reclusive life possible for myself.

Bro, I don't suck dick. I wouldn't mind giving a reach around, but I don't suck dick.

>>711827643
Indeedy
>>711827704
I'm not quite happy yet. I still have my ups and downs.
>>711827704
More or less, yeah. Although, I have my problems but I'm ok overall.
>>711827784
Also this, sometimes.
>>711827613
nothing,you?
>>711827704
eh, I definitely wouldn't characterize myself as unhappy. Just had to make some lifestyle changes that a 'normal' person probably wouldn't need to.

Hey unscannable
Just enjoying the thread before go back to study... and you?

Upgrading my Charger R/T and SS in The Crew.

I don't know about the first line.
As for the 2nd line, most of us wish we had a different childhood, at least for some part. I'm not going to waste time talking about my own experiences but the point is we're not in the past or future, we're in now, and sure we can learn from the past and prepare for the future, but can only act on now. I wouldn't think of society as a whole, but as many individuals who won't completely agree or disagree with you, there's a lot of opinions in one human.
Cultivation skills and a quiet place sound nice. If you choose to limit your interactions as much as possible, why are you here? This is it's own society.

I'm here because it's an accessible, low stress social outlet
I really don't have any problem with how I was raised, but in retrospect I can see how it may have contributed to my current distaste for face-to-face human interaction.
We live in an increasingly interconnected world, and an unfortunate side effect is the pathologicalization of those who dislike interconnectedness
Historically, most of the population was distributed in rural areas, where interaction was limited to family groups and small communities. Now, most of the population is concentrated in cities and dense suburbs - I feel that people who don't thrive in these environments, such as myself, are becoming increasingly marginalized
No place for the hermit in modern America

>>711829503
try to do what?
exist in the befuddling paradox of urban life, where you are simultaneously forced into constant social interaction and yet dehumanized/viewed as an archetype rather than an individual?
Tried my best at that for quite a while, didn't gain anything from it but constant misery/anxiety
>>711829741
Yep. and I even had myself convinced I was a non-gamer there for a while.
>>711829813
Well said pal
Here, a shark
>>711829783
Did I ever show you my dad's old '68 Camaro?
>>711830185
To me, maybe. You've shown it a couple of times.
>>711830303
It was a beast of a car. I wish he hadn't sold it, but I guess my mom makes up for it with her '15 Camaro SS.

I cant identify what kind of creature is she
Is a mythologic one, some kind of hybrid or what?
>>711830398
Camaros run in the family. Nice.
>>711829962
Did you pull a McCandless and go unprepared? Are you a minority in your country? You put so much focus on your words and not enough on trying to find a way. Maybe that is your way though, to suffer and continue looking for a way. Here's something you might like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dou58Gz78Qs
This is good stuff
Didn't even know I had an android/cyborg fetish
>>711830398
I think I'd rather have a 72 Nova.
Or a 72 Montecarlo.
Or a 72 impala.

>>711830714
Those are good too.
>>711830714
You sure like 72's. Novas are sick, too. My grandpa had a '70 Chevelle right when they came out.
>>711830110
Someone cant deny what it likes i guess
I was playing videogames since i have memory so i never had to convince myself about it
>>711830838
72 was one of gm's best years in my opinion.
Except for trucks.
>>711830991
It was quite good. I'm not too knowledgeable of trucks. What made them not as good as their cars?
>>711830622
I enjoy modern conveniences too much to simply go full wild mode
As I said before, I'm currently in the process of getting money and skills so I can put together a homestead of sorts that can afford me the lifestyle I desire. It's definitely doable, and I see myself achieving it within ten years.
I suppose there is a growing movement towards this sort of self-sufficiency, but I don't think it is currently seen as desirable or even acceptable to 'check out' of society, outside of certain niche communities
>>711831098
The trucks were decent, I just don't care for the styling. I prefer the early to mid 60's for their trucks.
I have a 66.
>>711825947
haven't gotten laid in almost a year so its messing with my esteem, also this stuff.
>>711831489
Oh, gotcha. That 66 looks neat.
>>711831584
They are nice. I'd prefer a 64 but the 66 is almost the same. Most people wouldn't even notice the major differences.
>>711831843
I certainly wouldn't. I need to learn more about trucks. I plan on getting an old truck to carry my motorcycle to the track when I get one, but I'm nearly as knowledgeable of trucks as I am cars.

>>711832279
Hey
>>711830965
Kind of the opposite for me. I didn't really start gaming until my friends got hooked on MotoGP. Before we the race came on, we would always play the video games.
It was like a tradition, we would pick our favorite racers, and then learn the track before the race started.
It was cool, because when a rider wrecked you could be like.. yeah, I had trouble with that turn too.
>>711825419
This ain't /bbc/
anyone up for a new thread?
>>711831300
I agree in it's feasibility, but I don't think you're "checking out" of anything. If you don't go outside to interact/socialize, being held up in an apartment isn't much different from going off the grid, of course there are vast differences beside my point.
I'd like you to define "Society" so I can better understand your point. I could be totally wrong, but all I think of is stupid social media and socialite clubs that most people aren't in anyway. To me there isn't some mass society, so I don't have this problem. No one knows everyone, and sure news might reach a lot of ears but it doesn't mean those people feel the same. When you said "
exist in the befuddling paradox of urban life, where you are simultaneously forced into constant social interaction and yet dehumanized/viewed as an archetype rather than an individual?", I feel like that's unfair and you're a hypocrite if you think of society as a whole. Sure we all are hypocrites in some way, just thought I'd point that out though.
