um, if you look at the source code for unix v6, it's very simple. no one should think that writing code "by hand" is hard. it's no easier when you're using an IDE. it's not like it's going to tell you anything until you try to compile and realize that you didn't properly initialize or cast double pointers in C. once you get past second semester baby java. writing by hand should be just as good as a fucking IDE or you will never make it.

Yeah, I had COMPAQ with two 5.25 floppies. Had to load DOS to boot up. I came with a 4"X3" orange monocolor oscilloscope type cathode ray tube display. Use a 300 baud modem for dial-up to the IBM System mainframe. Slow a hell any you had to be sure not to make any syntax errors. You literally did the index finger dance on the keyboard and purposely went slowly to insure the the command line to transmit correctly. Ugh!

WWW, old Firefox, Greenbrowser, Dooble......
Greenbrowser especially is built by the Chinese on an old as shit IE engine. hasn't been updated in forever so html5 is broken.
4Chan works fine. No YouTube, haven't tested flash, most of the more common sites are broken, however.
WWW, or WorldWideWeb, is the first public access web browser. Problem is its so old, no one has a copy. I got my hands on it once, but its so old its merely impossible to get it working without nigger-rigging it somehow.
Dooble was a mistake. Its a browser that looks like IE and mimics old Firefox, but it clears your cookies and history after closing it. I love it.
>>711543204
Also worth mentioning that I collected allllll browsers in high school, even the adware and viruses like Torch. I may actually have WWW stored somewhere.
I also had the old Aurora betas and used to connect through AOL while browsing the internet on Firefox(the AOL browser was slow as fuck and seems to be an IDE in an IDE. however, I can't track it down and there is no mention of what browser it was internally.

some older apps and games were written around a standard clock speed from older PC's 286,386 etc. If you used a game that worked fine in a 286 it might run way too fast in a 386. turbo button allowed you to slow shit down for compatibility. Now everything coded much better.
