Why would a man who (seemingly) has everything, want to be President?

Why have that added responsibility/stress in your life when you don't need to?
>>
Power.

>>711405212
Trump never wanted to be president, but after years of seeing his country in ruin, he figures that he better do it himself.

This..
Also, (i doubt it) but there are people who love their country and are willing to sacrifice.
>>
>>711405212
Maybe because he actually gives a shit about helping the country he loves. This is why he's the best choice. Hillarys in it for the power and to go down in history as the first woman president. He's in it to make a difference.

>>

>>
>>711405660
>>711405212
Yeah Trump saw that the US was heading down a dark path since the 80s and didn't do anything.
He just wants to at least try to fix it. So why not let him?
>>
>>711405523
this 4chan user is correct in their assessment.
>>
If you watch some of his past interviews from 20 years ago he said he never really wanted to, but if the country ever got bad enough and no one else would step up he might try. Well it got bad enough and no one else was stepping up, so he did.
>>
Once you've had it all... Sometimes you feel the urge to give back. Provide a helpful service to others.

Power. Same reason Pablo Escobar wanted to be President of Columbia. He had over 400 billion, it's about power. When you reach a certain amount of money, it means nothing anymore. Power is the new cash.

That; and there's a reasoning that Donald Trump genuinely wants to help his country and has nothing to do, so might as well. It's probably both, tbh.

For the influence

He has the resources and ability to make the push, and try to make an agenda for the american people.

He isn't in it for his ego or anything like that, he has ruined his name, most people think of him negatively (in some regard or another)...

infamy doesn't drive egos

He's willing to be a scapegoat for the american people

He was rich and well known his whole life, these girls could have accused him at any time of this shit and got front page influence.
>did you see the one girls interview saying she wants trump to say he wont sue lol and crying on her moms shoulder lmao so fake i cant even

He could have invested that money to make him wealthier, the presidential salary and stress isn't worth it to a man like that.

Maybe the pure knowledge and intelligence gained from knowing everything and the experience gained in that position.

Maybe he wants to be in textbooks too.

He's just here to MAGA.

He loves America and wants to make it great again. Pretty simple really. He is pretty much the opposite of Obama and Clinton who wanted to be president so they could become rich and ruin America by importing poor foreigners and putting them on the welfare dole.
>>
>>711408995
>Strengthen the borders
>Help reform the bond with Russia, and help them take down ISIS
>Wants to send illegals back to their counrties to stop them from taking jobs from the legals
>Open more jobs in the inner cities.
These were his policies and the reason why he won. Hillary and the Media didn't take him seriously, and thought just exposing the dumb shit he says will help her win. But it looks like America finally woke up.

one of two things:
1) he just wanted to see if he could get president, so that's why he did all those rallies and said all that shit
2) he wanted to fix the nation he grew up in. believe it or not but trump is actually pretty intelligent and manipulative, as all businessmen are because you'd be ruined if you weren't, and when he saw Clinton bid for presidency he knew she would win the democratic party due to her husband already serving as president and we can infer that since trump was friends with the Clintons prior he knew she would fix the election against sanders, so he ran for republicans and then he tried to get the media against him by say all the stupid shit, Clinton took notice and made it where he won the republicans, as if he wouldn't already, so she could run against the walking joke he made himself out to be. she didn't expect though, for him to actually be a chalenge and for all the scandles to come out for the past year, so now since he has won the presidency we are seeing what trump actually is going to do to fix the nation, like, healing us-Russian relations, convincing businesses to come back, and fixing the mess of obamacare

>tdlr: he said abunch of shit so he could do all the stuff he needed to make America great again
>>
>>711408543
>why did his policies seem so good?

because it's easy to say things like "I'll make you rich" without backing it up.

so he said good sounding things without any foundation, plan or backup

just look at his cabinet. first real thing he does and it's about as fucking stupid as fucking stupid can be

Personally, I think that Trump has many signifcant factors that makes and made him not wanna be president but be president.

>he came from money but more so succes
> had very little worries in world. Able to take advantage of this and get multiple degrees from ivy league level education.
>took 1 million, took advantage of his fathers legacy, education, connections, big personality, success and most importantly his street smarts which allowed him to conduct business within the confines of the law established by politicians that we voted in.
> he is a venture capitalist. Look it up. Hes about making insane profit margins with potential for large risks. Trump exploited are allowed corruption of politicians we voted in to make billions. Now im noy saying the money he made isnt legit, but he has succesfully played the system all in the meanwhile exposing these issues and telling people how easy and shit the system is.
>hes done it all. The schools, the money, the luxuries, the supermodels, the magazine covers, insanely large donations to groups or campaigns, tv, real estate, industry, the list is endless. No one who is as succesful as he is and will not be noticed. We all would be.
> ceos are some the most brilliant people to work in this country. Running businesses allows you to use diff parts of your mind, which can translate to using these skills in different settings i.e. politics. Our system is orientied to business. Hence why its so relatable.
> people argue that he isnt smart enough or educated in politics. But Obama became president after a freshman senator stint at 47 years old and practicing/teaching con law (which he was contradictory to). Thats like having a rookie qb start in the NFL. The chances they succeed are improbable. This is the same chance we are taking with Trump. Except hes bringing a different mindset, education etc.
> we have had nothing but politicians nd generals running this country.

In an interview (not sure which one) Trump spoke out about his fear of failure and marginalization. Him running for president was an ego trip of cosmic proportions, and will forever leave him believing that he is the smartest, most important person on the planet.

The only way his perspective will shift and he can start down the road towards being a viable human being is if he loses everything and is horribly disfigured. Then he'll be crushed in basic conversation by the average person, though he'd likely lose his mind and commit suicide based on his silver-spoon upbringing.

I have a simple question, and I want to see people who might actually know what the fuck they're talking about reply.

Trump's answer might not be the best. So what is the best?

We have a $500B trade deficit where money is just leaving the nation. Every year our national debt increases by about $1.4T. About a third of that is to foreign nations. So let's say we are borrowing $462B annually from foreign nations. So we're borrowing $462B to send out $500B. How does that even make sense? Why isn't this a problem?
>>
>>711412180
Yeah, cause he made money in the last 35 years from his government jobs

You know like the Clintons who stole furniture from the white house cause they were broke

And now worth MILLIONS from paid speeches to the countries who do so much good in this world

Too fucking funny

To dream the impossible dream,
To fight the unbeatable foe,
To bear with unbearable sorrow,
To run where the brave dare not go.
To right the unrightable wrong,
To love pure and chaste from afar,
To try when your arms are too weary,
To reach the unreachable star.
This is my quest,
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless,
No matter how far.
To fight for the right
Without question or pause,
To be willing to march
Into hell for a heavenly cause.
And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will be peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest.
And the world will be better for this,
That one man scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage.
To fight the unbeatable foe.
To reach the unreachable star.

Trump is a business man, he's stepping down from trump enterprise and letting his children run it to be president, now hes gonna run the USA like a business and thats by being a cold hearted business man, making deals, breaking useless pacts and writing rules to benefit the country (no muslims allowed for example).

Its about time we had someone who could care less about being politically correct and cared more about the business ( IE USA) .

Why can't people accept that we're not all going to evolve at the same rate? We all have different upbringings and backgrounds. The whole point of keeping the states separate(originally) was so that you could live in a place with like-minded people. The only reason this is even a problem is because the federal government got too big and can't possibly accommodate everyone. The founding fathers had it right.

The intelligent part of the country is fine. It's got high paying jobs, well educated and socially liberal.

It's all your rural working class folk who refused to move with the times and upskill into an actually useful job, who think the government owes you a livelihood in your dumbass blue collar work that a reasonably bright chimpanzee could do, that voted this actor in who tapped into you moron's psyche.

But you'll see that nothing will change. You can't stand in the way of free market capitalism. Liberal, affluent, well educated people will continue to prosper and you rural conservatives will continue to be the jihadists of the Western world.

The vast majority of blue states pay more into the federal income that they take and the for the vast majority of red states it's the opposite.

If the country were to split in two along red and blue states, the blue country will have an enourmouse surplus and the red one an equialy large debt.

The blue states, with their high profit tech, culture and financial industries subsidies the agriculture based red states to keep the afloat.

"high profit tech".. like Apple? Do you ever wonder why they are so profitable? CA has a concentrated economy that offshores resources. Of course they're profitable, and they pay taxes. But you're ignoring why they are so profitable, which is at the cost of the nation. It's not profits for the nation, it's profitable for them and the countries they outsource to.

The agriculture industry is heavily subsidized. Heavily. Look up how much. Because there is an oversupply and the farmers can't survive if the food prices were not regulated. We only need a fraction of the food those states are making. Most of it just goes to waste.

Those subsidies are there to keep those states afloat and are paid for by liberal states that produce technology and culture and other things modern civilization wants to buy.

Seriously, all conservative arguments about them being the backbone of the economy are proven wrong by the free market.

Hey... my guest bathroom is bigger than your lounge. You're Republican talking points no longer apply since this election.

This election has been between the affluent, liberal part of the country that is doing well and the conservative economic backwater that's asking for handouts... those handouts being trade tariffs and subsidies to keep their outmoded manufacturing industries going.

Your rhetoric is now redundant... the roles haves reversed... the Democrats represent the haves and the conservatives represent those looking for economic policy handouts.

Your anger presents a basic misunderstanding of business. Businesses, unless insanely profitable, cannot take the stance of an activist. THEY CAN'T. It would be totally unaffordable and they would have to shut down.

With the current standing they are forced to be competitive to stay afloat, even if that means going against their own personal beliefs. That is a fact. That does not make you a hypocrite. Any of those changes Trump is for would impact all businesses, including his own. At least he could be doing the right thing and remain competitive because they are all on the same level. You sound like one of those people who believe that the wealthy stuff their cash under a mattress and hoard it instead of trying to put it to good use for growth. Just simple ignorance.

Yo bro, I got you. I understand why you think that and in all actuality he did add more stress on himself. Though the man, may be a douche, he has a good heart for the right things. Example would be this country, the vets, and the people of this country. He see's that so many people are struggling and he sees that this is being caused by people who come over here and will work for little to nothing while in all honesty those jobs and positions should be offered to the people of the United States. And I'm mainly referring to illegals, not any specific race included. Now, I didn't support the man at first, but I saw that he had determination to actually do well for this country. And the man himself can not really be bribed, hell he's taking all this on without taking presidential salary. He'll most likely be the guy who actually does some fairly decent change for this country. And hell, the guy is smart as fuck other wise he wouldn't be where he is today. He know's how to get shit done and doesn't hesitate to get it done.

tl;dr
The man brave as hell and he see people hurting and he wants to do something about it. Just give the man a chance.

Sometimes money isnt enough to make your mark on history.

Would you rather be rich for your lifetime and be forgotten or be rich AND remembered for making America the greatest nation in the world (As long as you're legal and upper-middle ->Upper class.)

Hell I'd trade all my riches for the right to end the world as we know it on my terms. It's not even because I hate anyone or enjoy causing pain and suffering. My life hasnt been bad by any stretch of the imagination either. I think life is precious and it would take a monster to end millions->billions of them in a single throw. But if I could with a single order? For the survivors to utter my name in fear and curses for the rest of time? To make nagasaki look like it was just a little firecracker that hit it? Its probably a good thing I'm too dumb and unmotivated so I'd never have a chance at that much power.

I know, but regardless of who would have won, there was going to be repercussions. Though, for the safety for all humanity, Trump needed to be president. If Clinton would have won, there would have already been a civil war break out as well as getting Putin's boot so far up our ass by now it wouldn't be funny. Regardless of what he may have said, he had intentions of going to war if Clinton would have won. So, goodbye to all humanity. Trump on the other hand, the repercussions of him winning have been a shit ton of whinny little libtards that fucked up by allowing Clinton to get this far. Riots(go figure) and violence, but anymore this is a social norm to us in the United States sadly enough.

Because he wanted to give back to America.
There is no other reason that does not require one to abandon common sense.

Finally, the endless cycle of Wall Street-controlled candidates is broken. Americans will be free soon. What confuses me is why those who voted for a Democrats have still not yet realized that their anger should be directed at the media as, there is a simple explanation as to why all the media and all the polls had it wrong--Wall Street controls the media--and your Democratic Party. True enough, they control the Republican Party too, but at least now both those citizens who voted either way have a true independent in their that may divest control from Wall Street back to the people. That any Democrat believes Hillary was for them is just bizarre to me. Lifelong Dem, btw, but abandoned for the first time in my life to vote for Trump. And fyi, I actually am from the generation that made this country great--and far too old to be here I guess, but I find a lot of what you kids say interesting, albeit very lost.

Trump is either going to make or break the Republican party and I'm really anxious to see where it goes. You libtards can take comfort in that if Trump isn't a success that the Republican party is done for, for good.

Yeah, shame on you. That image you posted purporting to be of a Trump supporter at a rally has nothing to do with Trump, a rally, or anything of the like. It is an image of a man with Down Syndrome who came out in support of America after the Boston Marathon bombings on the 4th of July 4, 2013.

I'm really embarrassed to be a Democrat knowing that there are people like you out there. No wonder we lost. You and your kind with their lies and intolerance and hatred of everyone and everything. You are a dark soul that does not deserve to live. I'm sure karma has an eternal reward for you posting that.

Don't associate the KKK with republicans. If you want to be technical it was the democratic party who started that shit.

I salute you!
This anon is clearly from the great generation.
We need more people like you around here.
My grandfather served in WWII and was a great man. If I become half the man he was, I'd be doing far better than 99% of everyone walking around today. I don't think my younger generation understands they had literally nothing to do with building this country and have given nothing for it. It sickens me to see people like Miley Cyrus post videos of herself pretending to love and be so accepting when it is patronizing duplicity. What gives her the right to have a voice at all? She has done nothing for this once great country except destroy its morals.

Yes, but back in the day the voting bases of the Democrats and Republicans were flipped. The Democrats then were the racist, Southern, conservative, religious bigots. Today this is the Republican motto.

It's a double whammy. We use tax money to pay for food no one needs and it props up the economy of conservative bigots who, ironically, think they are the protectors of the free market.

BECAUSE he has everything. People that know him here in NY have known for ages how straight up patriotic he is. Frikkin LOVES this country.

I easily know 25 people who met him on the street or jobsite who say he's the coolest muthafucka walkin.

He's not a patriot, he's a narcissistic attention whore with a god complex who has an uncanny insight into the psyche of the dumbest half of America.

The only silver lining is that he won't actually change anything as his only goal was to get what he wanted.

'Cause he's the God of humor.
He contributed so much more in comedy and cynicism than any man existed could.
The perfect historical joke, the rest of the world can laugh with needed an end, a closure.
EU feels happy for Donald.

Alright, yeah you got me. Though in all technicality there is still racist shit that the democrats are doing to their own. Hell, look at the news anymore. You hear about a new nigga gettin shot all the time anymore. Though think about something. What people are mostly on welfare Black folk. Turn around and look at who is all for welfare. Democrats. Slavery really hasn't ended. They are just damning a group of people by feeding them, clothing them, etc etc, Some of these folk don't know what a hard day of work really is. Now, when it comes around when the welfare system gets removed because of some reason. Probably going to be the republicans doing that. Trying to make a group of self sufficient people. Those same people are gonna think to themselves. "Oh shit, this working shit sucks. We need to get the other guys back so we can keep getting a free ride." The democratic party will always get what they want.

Also, sorry, I'm really really stoned, but the point is, Slavery really isn't done for. Slavery is still going strong today by the welfare system and it's predominantly ran by the democrats. Once the big bad republicans starts to fine tune the welfare, these leaches (able people who are just extremely lazy) will actually have to go and work to make a living. They gonna see it sucks and then want their old lifestyle back, thus always putting democrats at a much bigger advantage.

He ran as a way to increase his clout with NBC in his contract re-negotiations for The Celebrity Apprentice. Then he he made the infamous Mexican rapists gaffe and lost the show. But his poll numbers surged and he just went with it.

You're totally right. Helping the destitute is basically slavery. That money would be better spent propping up obsolete manufacturing industries in the conservative heartland. I mean, they are the backbone of the economy and the only reason they are doing badly is because something something Chinese Muslim Lesbians.

The point is, If we don't pay for the poor downtrodden conservative to hold onto their outmoded lifestyle, the terrorists will force us to have abortions.

The government might not OWE people a reasonable living, but it's in their best interest to make sure it happens. If people aren't working, producing something the country needs, then the economy suffers. Not to mention that with the way our economy works, production is effectively military power. If the economy isn't strong enough to support the military, American foreign interests start to fall apart, and it all starts to spiral.

Really, the inflation of a college degree is part of the reason we're not able to live like the 50s right now. That, and we're not riding the economic afterglow of a good war.

>You can't stand in the way of free market capitalism.
An absolutely free market is terrible for the vast majority of the people living under it. Let's see if the state's rifles will still be there to prop it up.

>>711425226
If the Trumpists/Brexits were honest about this people wouldn't get so mad. But that group still thinks they are the backbone of the economy and the bastion of free market capitalism... that they do all the real work and the liberals just live off the government teat.

Their bigotry and anti-intellectualism, which was the cause of their problems in the first place, makes it hard to feel any sympathy.

He either really thinks he can make a difference, or it's an ego thing. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and buy that he really thinks he can make a difference, until he demonstrates otherwise. I truly do hope, and think that he can.

Oh yea, and there's the other theory that he was supposed to be running in order to fuck up shit for whomever ended up being the Republican front-runner, hopefully to pave the way for Clinton to sweep up the election, except "oops, people liked him and took him seriously no matter what he said or did." As lulzy as that would be, I doubt it.

He's run before. He never accomplished more than generating a little publicity for himself, and whatever reality show or whatever he was trying to promote at the time. There's no way he or Clinton, or anyone else could have predicted the effect and influence he'd end up having over the election. If Clinton were going to stoop to trying to get someone to derail the GOP from within, he probably wasn't the most likely choice, given his past track record of being mostly ignored, and definitely not taken seriously.

Actually that track record is why he did so well, and won by a landslide. The GOP, DNC, and media didn't take him seriously until it was already too late for them to do much than watch it happen.

If he started out actually thinking he had a chance in hell of even losing the general election in a historic landslide defeat, and this shit was carefully planned and executed, then he's probably one of the most fucking brilliant politicians to come along in a very long time, because he fucking threw two very longstanding, powerful and influential political powers for the loop of a lifetime. He managed to hijack one that was in slow decline and headed for inevitable collapse, and used it to reduce the other one to potentially the same level of ruin (the DNC is not going to ever be the fucking same after this). If intentional, it was nothing short of genius.
