I went to NZ to work on a ski resort for a winter. Fucking amazing country and delicious little birds.
Not gonna lie one of hte best times of my life and probably my favorite place on earth. Absolutely stunning country. In the spring we hiked to some glaciers and saw a huge chunk of ice break off and fall about easily half mile to the canyon floor. And in the spring every animal gives birth so there were baby deer and cows and everything all over the place. Cause they have huge animal farms and are the worlds leading exporter of venison.
Oh but yea the locals talked about how they were worried about the kiwi birds because everyone loves kiwi fruit so much. great country 10/10 would recommend.

Yes, actually. The bird kiwi descended from kiwi fruit that fell from trees in New Zealand in the 1600s. When the fruit first fell, it was not edible, so no creatures picked at it, allowing it to sit on the ground and fester. The fruit did not have the shape we know today - it was merely a thin skin which housed a large, egglike seed. Inside the seed were the nutrients necessary for the kiwi to grow. The bird developed when the fruit saw the need to move, but had no access to animal feces or spores. As such, it developed limbs, using the nutrients contained within its seed to grow. Using these primitive limbs, the seeds would wander aimlessly until their food supply ran out, and then they would collapse into the ground and cause the growth of a tree. Some time later, the growth of a head was needed, since the aimless wandering more often than not led to the destruction of the seeds. And so, the seeds developed a head, with a brain, eyes, and ears, so they would know where they were going. Eventually, these seeds completely split from the kiwi tree, which had begun to produce an edible fruit whose seeds could be moved through animal feces, and the moving seeds developed a mouth and working organs and became the kiwi birds we know and love today.

Listen here guys, the names Brandon, kinda new around here so lemme spit it straight. Kiwi can't have fruit on the inside because, using the kiwi fruit hypothesis, that would not allow the kiwi to use its legs or breathe or function at all. I do have my own counter theory that allows the kiwi insides to remain kiwi and still make sense. What if the kiwi bird is really just a large version of the normal kiwi fruit? If we look at it from this angle it wouldn't make sense UNLESS we assume the legs and beaks and eyes of the kiwi aren't even parts of the kiwi at all, but rather, parasites that allow the kiwi fruit to become autonomous. Is we assume this we solve the mystery of the kiwi. It's only a theory now but ill be taking it to the board of directors of kiwiology on the morrow. May the kiwi bless you.
