It's time for another late night space thread.
What do you think is out there, /b/? What sorts of mysteries are hidden, right above our heads? Come share your theories and beliefs about the our universe here.
Probably my favorite celestial body.
>>711385820
these threads get filled quickley with idiots and the stupid theories they make up and they talk about shit they don't understand at all.
>>711385820
Spaceniggers, OP. Spaceniggers are out there.
>>711385820
Space is like a nigger: it is black, and useless, and seems to go on forever
>>711385955
fucking Republicans
denying human caused climate change when it is destroying the great red spot on Jupiter
>>711386002
Couldnt have put it better myself
All of my nope.
Ayy lmao
You people are fucking stupid.
>pretend to be innocent
Mm hm right
Things that we couldn't even comprehend, something that might even give clues to our origins could easily just be sitting there above our heads just teasing us. However, the sad truth is that most of probably won't be around to see what space has to offer.
>>711385955
Waiting for Zagadka to turn it into Lucifer making all those question irrelevant.
>>711386344
>>711386407
It really sucks, I would love to understand everything the universe has to offer, but there's simply too much in the universe.
Something about the Pillars of Creation really inspires me with awe. I'm on mobile, can a helpful anon please link a picture?

There's also an extremely high-res version here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/68/Pillars_of_creation_2014_HST_WFC3-UVIS_full-res_denoised.jpg

Thank you!

hello
This is the Eskimo nebula in false color
Spaceniggers. Spaceniggers everywhere.

Here is higher res image for the (Engraved) Hourglass nebula, AKA the Eye of Sauron, but in space
Do you think life exists beyond Earth, /b/?
If it did, what do you think it would be like?
In sci-fi, aliens are usually depicted as humanoids, with eyes, feet, and mouths. I feel like if aliens do exist, they would be something so different, that we can't even imagine it. Maybe they don't have eyes, because they don't see visible light. Maybe they don't have mouths because they get their energy through heat or sunlight. Maybe they're not even made of elements we currently know. For all we know, they could be made of antimatter.
>>711387793
Maybe they are invisible and we are them
>>711387793
Or maybe life elsewhere in the universe evolved exactly the same. Who knows.
It looks delicious, like some sort of giant fluffy space cupcake.
>>711386891
Funny thing is the pillars of creation were actually destroyed by a supernova approx 6000 years ago
>>711388219
this is why we can't have nice stars
This is where you live, /b/.
>>711388508
Somewhere in here.
>>711385820
Thanks for the cool file names op great thread!
>>711388897
You're welcome, anon, glad you enjoy it.
>>711387793
I think we have a better chance of finding microscopic organisms instead of a giant organism. Who knows though? Maybe we'll end up finding some real ayy lmao's.
>>711389465
Odds are, we will find microbial life, or we will be found by a species that is so far ahead of us technologically that we can't even comprehend it.
That's why I don't think us being attacked by aliens (if they exist) is very plausible. If they're so advanced that they can travel thousands of lightyears to Earth, then there's no reason for them to attack us.
Amazing thread. Actually makes you think.
Now this one is pretty cool.
A reply was sent in 2012, containing 10,000 Twitter messages.
>>711388314
And there we go as the first numpty shows up
Well that's about all I've got, /b/. Please keep this thread bumped. Space threads are always the best threads on /b/.
>>711389698
Unless they need something.
Given the abundance of easily obtained elements around the galaxy... perhaps they actually fancy a bit of DNA based life for dinner.
Not saying its likely, just possible.
>>711390433
How is a random factoid stupid or ineffectual?
>>711388851
Fuck, that's just mind blowing. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that the universe is so vast and yuge that the light from the furthest stars took ~13 billion years to reach us.
>>711390876
Because its totally impossible that the pillars of creation were destroyed by anything. They are orders of magnitude too big to be significantly damaged by a supernova. Infact they rely on supernova to seed them.
The comment was just random numptyism
>>711390963
Look up the Hercules Corona-Borealis Great Wall. It's the largest, most complex structure in the universe. No one has any idea how it exists, because there is simply no way anything could become that complex in 13 billion years.
shitty sci-fi greentext time!
i hope this entertains you
