For me, I figured out early on that there is a lot of hollywood-fed bullshit about how to navigate a relationships with women, and love in general, and decided to keep to my own instincts about what is right.
First and foremost, I don't look at them as women. I look at them as people and equals who are looking for the same things I do, and will bail if the relationship dynamics and incentives aren't right. I respect them and don't see women as objects. Just other people with hopes and desires independent of me, the relationship and their gender norms.
The same as any interpersonal situation, if you're too good, you'll get walked all over. If you're bad, you'll never develop anything long term. If you balance power dynamics that create a comfortable equilibrium appropriate to the length of the relationship you want, then it works out how you want it to.
I'm a bit older, I am not married and have no kids. In that sense I guess I'm going my own way but because all my peers have made your typical life choices (most who regret them now). I am a dude so I can pretty much have kids anytime and don't desire to lock down in my prime energetic years. I'll do that when I'm older.
Currently I have (a few) women in my life and it works out great. In that sense I guess I can't be MGTOW. I respect them and they respect me. You just have to play smart with that.
