Hate to tell you, but racism is everywhere. It's just more submerged in some areas. Some people are racists, some aren't. It's not black and white racism, it's really shades of gray and the shade depends on the area and the individual.
Hard to think that people see things so absolute when reality is more abstract, but what is and has always been true to you isn't the same for your sibling, parent, neighbor, or friend.
