if you seat in a seat that is not yours, the last person will seat in an incorrect seat by definition. (99/100)

so the last person will seat in his own seat 1/100 times

The ping pong ball is less dense than water, but more dense than air. Since the ball is being forced up by the buoyancy force due to the water, the force is not comming from outside of the system. However the ball does add mass, while the steel ball doesn't because it's normal force is countered by the crane. Therefore the side with the ping pong ball is heavier and will tip.

The tension in the string exists because the ball is buoyant, i.e. being pushed up by the water, which is being pushed up by the container. Your statement implies that ultimately the left side of the balance is pulling itself up.

The fist time you weight 8 of the balls in two random groups of 4.

If they are the same, your odd ball out is the light one.

If they are different, the side that is lighter has the lighter ball.

Repeat the process on the lighter side with the remaining four balls. Again you have a lighter side. Repeat the process with those balls to find the one lighter ball.

That's three steps, but it seems obvious and that there must be a faster way.
>>
>>710764184
Ah good call.

>>710763830
>3----3
if they balance you know they arent the light ones
if they dont you know which three has the light one in
either way you have narrowed it down to 3
>1----1
you put one of the three suspects on each end and leave the other off
if they balance then the light one is the one you got left over from the suspects,
if not then you obvs know which one is the light one

The weight from the beakers, water, etc. all cancel out. There's a tension force acting upward on the left side of the scale while the tension force on the right side does not act on the scale. Sum moments about the pivot of the scale. There's a net clockwise moment on the scale.

Does each shooter get to shoot again, in order, if 2 people aren't dead at the beginning of round 1?

If so then it doesn't matter as long as he doesn't shoot grey, he survives equally well whether he aims at himself or black

If not then he should shoot himself for existing in such a poorly worded problem.
>>
>>710761800
buoyancy doesnt affect the scale on the left since the string negates it. it does however act on the right side and pushes the steel ball up slightly while pushing the water down. the rest of the weight of the steel ball obviously doesnt affect the system since its hanging. that means on the left we have the weight of the ping pong ball pushing down and on the right the reverse of the buoyancy force pushing down. since the ping pong ball would float on water the buoyancy is stronger wich means the scale tips to the right.

if white fires at either and misses, mr gray won't fire on mr black, the logical choice, because then the problem is unsolvable. mr gray will always fire on white, hit, and black will always fire on gray, hit.

if mr white fires on black and hits, gray will fire on white and hit.

if mr white fires on gray and hits, surely black will hit white.

mr white has to not fire to survive, but it says this will only end in bloodshed. not possible thanks

Ping pong ball is hollow, yet still displaces an amount of water equal to the volume of the ball. therefore force of buoyancy is greater than the gravitational force. No need to name call, you faggot.

Anyone who says tips to the right or the let side goes up is an idiot. Weight is only added to the left side so the left side must dip. All of the force on the right side is being opposed by the string whereas the ping pong ball's weight is actually added to the beaker.

yeah! good job. the downward force the string on the right exerts should check the upward force from the water displaced by the steel ball, because strings in general exert force and like to remain perfectly taut through witchcraft. see i forgot about witchcraft. so you're right

You're honestly spouting jibberish now, The string only has and upward force along it on the right. The force of the sting and the fact that you cant easily compress water means no extra force is being applied on the right hand side where as weight has actually been added to the left side. You need to work on your basic mechanics my friend.

no yeah of course, i'm agreeing with you. the tension in the right string obviously remains cosntant, because it;s not like the upward force the water applies to the steel ball does anything to the tension of the string. for instance, if i put a boat out on the water, it immediately sinks, because if some retard thinks that there's any possible way that buoyant force counteracts downward force, tehy're wrong.

Someone doesnt understand how buoyancy works now. Its a solid steal ball, no way in hell is the difference between the buoyancy and water displaced more then the weight of a pingpong ball. Ill give you me saying no weight was added isnt 100% correct but it essentially is, now stop splitting hairs and being a general ass.

But the steel ball is completely submerged. The downwards force applied to it by the water should be equal to the upwards force.
>>
>>710777247
of course of course, ir ealize that. i'm on your side!!! the buoyant force, being equal to the weigth of the steel blal displaced, must be zero. because zero is whatshappening on the left side of the equation. very little amount of somethign is the same as zero. i know that because i studied math. i'm extremely aware that a very small amount of sand is not a beach, nor is it even sand. imr eally trying to say im on your side!!!

No, they don't. Each image has a corresponding summative value. This doesn't work with the numbers whatsoever, it purely works with the pictures of numbers being used. If it relied on the numbers you could convert to base seven and it would still work the same way. It does not, because it's playing with pictures.
>>
>>710779464
True but you still don't need to know or even get the number of circle parts to get the answer.
>>
>>710760224
I hope anybody that answers this so far was trolling but I fear they are not.
Left side:
Water is displayed by ping-pong ball, but it does not pull up on scale, the same way I cannot fly by standing on a board with a string through it and pulling up. The left side now weighs the same as a ping-pong ball plus water. The exact same amount as if you placed on top of the water.
Right side:
Steel ball displaces water but does not change the volume of the steel ball it does not effect the weight. The steel ball pull down on the string less, but the water does not weigh anymore. Any of the excess, ie non bouent weight, will be held by the water. Weight equals the weight of the water.

So bother sides displace the same amount of water but the side with water plus ping pong ball weighs more, be the weight of the ping pong ball so scales goes left.

Mr White should shoot Mr Black.
This will only ever end with 2 dead so...

If Mr. White shoots Mr. Black, then he has a 75% chance of missing. This will, however, make Mr. Gray shoot Mr. Black as well since White didn't shoot him. If Mr. Gray does not hit (25% chance) Mr. Black, Mr. Gray is shot by Mr. Black.

So at this point White gets a shot at whoever is still standing.

That's the maximum probability he has of shooting either. It is even further maximized if Mr. Gray does not fail his shot at Black.

An even better choice would be for Mr White to waste his shot by shooting into the air.

If he shoots at Mr Black and hits him it will only make his situation worse since Mr Gray will get to fire back at him before he gets another shot.
