You can pull an EEPROM chip off a sports game and transplant it. Has to be the same size though.
But like I said, Nintendo made their own chips so finding one new that would be a drop in replacement isn't going to happen.
Off the top of the list I found that All Star Tennis '99 has the same size chip and could be used.
But before you go switching chips, clean your N64 cartage slot with some contact cleaner and rub down the pins on your game. Wiped saves are from bad connection usually.

Its from a MGMT song, which is pretty new, but the genre is old as hell.
It uses 3rd person controls, which I've always liked more than the isometric mouse-based ones that LoL uses. And it doesn't do any laning. Laning can be fun, but it also has the problem of either sucking in bad players or dragging the game out if the pace isn't right.
