I love Munch as a character but the technology wasn't there yet. Munch deserves a sequel that truly shows what Oddworld is about.
MO was too... vanilla. It either took place in a forest or in a big metal room. The environment changed only in specific, minor circumstances. I wanted to see more of the fuzzles and more of Munch and his side of the world. Also, scrab herds? Come on.

I also loved playing that genre which are open world with a nice and well written story line, the Gothic parts one to three were really nice, even tho you needed the community patch to actually play the game, because wolves could spawn out of walls or in the ground and the sound would bug, they would be barking really loudly annoying as fuck and the worst part, they could easily kill you especially when you had no equip or anything.

It's something that I find hilarious when people say dark souls is "too hard". It's frustrating yes, espically when it forces you to scrounge up the info yourself, but it's fair. Every boss has a weakness. Every weapon has a style and every person is different. You having trouble if your own fault and that's not the "devs fault", it's you not being innovative or having skill.
Having trouble with the game using the axe? Try using a rapier or spear and hide behind your shield. That doesn't work for you? Get naked and dodge in and out gracefully. Just because the game doesn't hand you the win doesn't mean it isn't good. Beyond this the game fucking holds your hand up until Anor Londo.
In fact O&S was the hardest fight, hands down. Took Me several tries to beat it, and when I did, the battle lasted for half an hour. Did I want to throw it in a corner? Hell yes. Did it? No, I persevered because I KNEW I could beat it.
And if worse comes to worse anon, like any RPG, just grind some levels if your really that stuck.
Minor thing: I agree though that people don't understand what makes dark souls hard, and try and copy it only to produce shitty results. A good example is dark souls 2

I can not fully agree, since i enjoyed the game when i was younger, i could play it without having to buy a whole book to at least see what can be done and what is possible, even if it took me a while.
Don't know if i would still play it nowadays since the nostalgia makes me depressed for some reason.
Sadly underrated and forgotten, this game was fucking amazing with its fresh setting and awesome story. Ill never forget one of the endings where the bad guy asks you to kill yourself, so he can rule the world and you can just say OK and do it lol, after that they show you how years later he ruled the lands north korea best korea style, with him as a god and your character as the hero that helped him reach that.
Only thing i would change is to swap that retarded gem equipment thing into usual clothing system.

I remember the day I bought it. I was getting tires changed on the car, and walked over to game stop to kill some time. Read the manual at the tire shop.
Went home, popped that fucker in the xbox, and it sucked my life away from that point on. I grew up in a time before vidya, and had played a lot of games, but never had a game captivated me with it's mystery, weirdness, and general allure.
Sure it has faults, but nothing can replace the exploration of the world the first time.
I think I'm going to install the overhaul and play that fucker again now that I am starting to forget some of the details.

Bethesda did atmosphere better. Fo3 and Fo4 actually felt like the world had ended, NV was just a wacky romans vs 1900s america war. Also, while it's not story related the climax for NV (the dam battle) is lamer than the battle of bruma in oblivion. There were no truly awesome or fun moments like "take it back" or "tranquility lane".
I liked NV for its amazing mod community, but as a vanilla game I liked the bethesda fallouts the most, especially for exploration locations.
Plus I like the morally grey factions in fallout 4, unlike NV there were many legitimate reason to consider every faction the heroes or villains.

Fucking asshole Bethesda didnt give Obsdian the bonus they really needed for this; they've had financial trouble ever since NV. The only thing that kept them from getting a higher review were the absurd amount of bugs upon release. But just like KOTOR 2, Obsidian always gets rushed pushed to finish a game before they root out all the bugs.
But yeah, NV is one of my all time favorite games, 3 was mediocre at best I think. I can go back and play it, apart from doing Tale of Two Wastelands.

Skyrim is a thousand times better than oblivion. I still love oblivion. Getting out of the sewer and seeing cyrodill for the first time is one of the best moments in gaming. But damn going through oblivion gates a billion times the whole game sucked ass.
