Aaaaaaah. Also have you read the Shadow of the Torturer series? It's in the same vein of sci-fantasy. Pretty good read for the descriptions of scenery and the locations. Characters are pretty good, but seem to have a supporting role in comparison to the universe itself. Pretty neat take on writing.
