Latrine digging was done with this tool that you just stick into the ground and rotate.
Takes a lot of downward force to get anywhere tho. Ended up using one fat fuck as downward ballast and two others to rotate it.
No shellscrapes fortunately.
Fired some blank rounds for some drills.
Had to account for every single expended round's shell casing.

Lost? Not while I was sitting down.
