True, a program have to be specifically designed for 64bit CPUs, the same way new 32bit programs 30 years ago had to be specifically designed for the newer 32bit CPUs, to be able to take advantage of the increased computational power.
You're obviously missing something important inbetween, the technological transition.
You may have missed the fact that nowadays, 64bit CPUs are the norm, even in mobiles, and that the transition is mostly achieved in software engineering, every new program coming out either in dual 32/64bit, or even 64bit version only.
There's nothing complicated in understanding that, schematically, more pipes allows you to deliver more water.

I have both, I prefer console because all my friends have console. It takes less concentration and focus. The skill level on pc games is far greater from player to player. Where console players seem to be less skillful making the multiplayer easier, and in turn getting first place is far easier. Also relaxing on the couch is nice compared to upright chair. I like pc gaming alot, however console takes less effort to have a compatible gaming machine. Everything out of the box amd I can start playing with friends. Pc, I'm constantly wanting more and better gameplay.
