Honestly, I feel like I probably should see someone. I'm not non-functional, but the death of my mother still haunts me a bit and I know that it kept me in mourning for over 2 years until recently. Trips around the country and abroad was very good for me and has opened me a lot more than I was.

I'm of the opinion that people should have regular checkups with mental health professionals, as we do with general practitioners
for some reason there is a stigma surrounding mental health in general, and people are often reticent to seek help
really all it takes is a bit of your time to see someone and talk about how you've been feeling recently - whether you feel the need to pursue further treatment from there is still entirely your choice

No absolutely. I think it's just the fact that it's not heavily impeding my life that I'm hesitant to breach the subject with a practitioner. I feel like all I would do is just talk it out. Which, idk. I feel like I've done a lot anyway. Sometimes just burying it and moving on feels like a better move.

I just think it's sad that so many people suffer through things that are often easily remedied, especially mental health issues
