Having a car is not all fun though. They are a money pit. You will rarely get more money out of a car then you put into it. Aside from being a money pit, they are headaches when they break down. It usually happens at the worst possible time, and half the time, its something stupid that should have been found out immediately instead of taking a week or more

To me it's mostly the combination of especially aesthetic parts of other specieces with the basic structure of humans.
This gives the characters something exotic.
Much like any other drawn erotica, the characters can be as perfect or imperfect as wanted, however they aren't quite as undefined and blank as it so often is found with hentai, where everyone just looks the same and detail doesn't exist.
Furthermore, leaving away the restrictions to the human body gives more possibilities to what they may be able to do, to possible conflicts etc, and enables to easily give the viewer a quick idea about the character, that may or may not turn out to be correct.

Usually a furry fetish will develop from early childhood movies with "attractive" animal characters in it, think Maid Marion from Robin Hood or Nala from Lion King. Obviously they're made to be feminine and it correlates to curiousity later on in life until they stumble upon furry related shit on the internet and boom. People like it because it can be exotic thinking of this anthro animal that also has a human-like conscious. Doesn't help that sometimes art can be so good they're just straight up nice to look at.
