It's kapton tape and it is some of the lightest and strongest stuff that exists.
I use the same material to tape the speed controllers to the carbon fiber arms of my racing quadcopter here.

See the gold tape on the arms. It's a form of teflon. Strong as fuck and weighs practically nothing. I used it for the same reason NASA did. Literally better way to attach things from a strength to weight perspective. Yeah there are stronger ways to mount things, but they are 10X heavier.

That is just plain dishonest and retarded. The shadows in question are from obvisouly non parallel objects. Look at the slants on those objects. You have a leg of the tripod slanted 45 degrees to the right, and a pole that is clearly slanted towards the camera being held by the astronaut.
Why isn't the shadow compared with the leg of the tripod which is farthest from the camera? The one that is also slanted towards the camera like the pole the astronaut is holding.
Those two objects are more or less at the same angle and look, OMG their shadows are more or less the same angle too.

The good old run o the mill nuke is known as a fission bomb. A hydrogen bomb is known as a fission-fusion bomb as the fission bomb is used to trigger the secondary fusion part. However, if you want to increase the yield of a hydrogen bomb you can replace the shell that holds the bomb together (not the hull, but the tamper) with uranium-238. They needed to be able to launch a spy satellite and then get the shuttle back down before it could be spotted by the Russians. If they spotted the shuttle they would also know the orbit trajectory of the spy satellite. So the shuttle had to have the ability to re-enter at a non-optimal angle and then turn so it could land in the USA.
