LISA: The Painful RPG is about Brad, Lisa's older brother, and his using Buddy as a second chance, to make up for not "saving" Lisa.
LISA: The Joyful is Buddy's response to how she was raised and treated by others in Olathe, essentially. A strong retaliation against figures of power who she may have seen as responsible for the way she was treated, as well as proving to Brad, who babied her and was very overprotective, that she didn't need him.
All up to interpretation though, don't take my word for it and build what you'd like from the story.

The first game was made in RPGMaker2003(?) [Might have been RPGMaker2000] and was essentially a fangame of Yumi Nikki, LISA: The Painful was a kickstarted project funded for like $13k with lots of code altered to make it the final piece, which explains the vast differences (Different budget/time put into it, different main characters, different setting).
Buddy is the last girl in the basically post-apocalyptic world known as Olathe. Lisa is speculated (99% positive) to have killed herself, judging by flashbacks and graphics in both LISA: The Painful RPG and LISA: The Joyful (Image of her dead, hanging body on title screen).

THIS. I'm not sure what people saw in the series. Mortal Kombat was only cool because of the fatalities and blood that was rarely seen in videogames back in 1992 when it was released. The fighting system is shitty and has not changed since. It has no fluidity and it feels really choppy. Street Fighter 2 turbo was a superior fighting game back then and so was Killer Instinct. Just like this anon said, Mortal Kombat has just survived off a gimmick of "gore" and "violence".

Honestly the biggest difficulty for me with demon souls was the distance between bonfires. By the time ds2 or three came out I had a feeling when the next bonfire would be coming up even if I had never played through an area. With demon souls I feel like I was struggling through areas for ages before I found the next spot to save. Although one exception was the sanctum is ds2 which I beat the first time by only finding two outta the five bonfires but that was a goddamn maze. I probably should have just used guides for that whole dam series

Ugly art style with turd looking colors that will put you to sleep, 3 boring 5 me, getting new abilities feels like a grind which is pretty bad since some abilities don't even feel like they're worth using, the collectibles suck, zombies for reasons I don't care to remember, and the game was falsely advertised as a "You don't HAVE to do stealth" kind of game even though you get absolutely assblasted if you don't.
And I usually like stealth games.
I'm not saying the game is bad, those are just my personal gripes with it.
