Not the anon you've been replying to, but for me, they fiddled with all this fucking SecureBoot UEFI signature stuff. I remember how HARD it was to get Windows 7 running on one laptop of mine that had Windows 8 preinstalled. I mean it, it was a fucking pain in the ass.
And SecureBoot is kinda important, because with this "feature" they might be able to control what kernel you are going to boot. The process of applying new keys right now it not trivial, and when there has been one observable trend then it's the one to "simplify" BIOSs/UEFIs.
