Anyone who classes them as a "Youtuber" for their main profession ends up turning shit eventually. They quit their job and become too heavily reliant on the Youtube money, so they end up just churning out crap. Filthy Frank and Cinemasacre seem to do Youtube as a side project, not as their main source of income, they both have plenty of other projects on the go.
I don't begrudge anyone making a decent living, fairplay to Ethan & Hila for getting out of Israel and moving to some swanky New York apartment, now LA. But their content has definitely suffered and they've been going steadily down hill for about a year.

I agree completely. Comedy really can't be forced. Years ago I got rejected by a girl I was after for years, had a lot of time and angst on my hands so I created a group where I posted funny/interesting pictures. My captions were honestly witty and hilarious and I had a large local following of friend as well as hundreds of people from around the world. It became more of a chore and I got very desensitized and burnt out so I just quit. I wasn't doing it for personal reasons anymore and that's what made it work in the first place. I don't think I'll ever be that funny or "popular" again (note I only had about 3000 followers at it's peak)

Exactly. When comedians do stuff for TV or movies, they take weeks, months, to write new material and then get paid in large chunks for either a string of live shows or a series on TV. The Youtube system basically means for these people to keep up a living they have to churn out regular content to keep getting paid, so it becomes a huge chore, and creativity and inspiration suffers greatly.
I think any of the Youtube comedy channels would be smart to not over spend when they are getting the big bucks, ride the train for 3 years or so, save up as much as possible, then do something else for a living. Every form of entertainment has a shelf life, and the Youtube bubble is very close to bursting. Google has not made a single penny from Youtube since purchasing it.
