1 it's difficult af to carry out a frozen dead body in treacherous terrain

Friction occurs when 2 surfaces come into contact with each other, enough to cause a resistance against any movement when the surfaces attempt to slide against each other. Urine, under certain circumstances may come between the two surfaces and act as a barrier to reduce the amount of contact area between these two surfaces - and hence reduce the friction between them.
>>
>>707627305
No that's not the case, the Everest as every difficulties of a summit of 8k meters but it's definitely not that dangerous because only seasoned alpinists try it (well with its commercial evolution it's not always the case but it rarely end with a death). The annapurna and the K2 are the most dangerous of the himalayan summits (approx 30% of death)

I love Everest. Not because I like climbing mountains, but because it's just so obvious mousetrap for rich people.

Just the climbing permission alone costs $50 000 and because adventurers have taken over the mountain ages ago it's just rich retards who climb up there. It's ridiculous. It takes such physical endurance that most people can't make it without ideal conditions and guidance. And even with all that shit they still die all the fucking time or come down with massive frostbites.

>Weathers spent the night in an open bivouac, in a blizzard, with his face and hands exposed. When he awakened, he managed to walk down to Camp IV under his own power.
>His fellow climbers said that his frozen hand and nose looked and felt as if they were made of porcelain, and they did not expect him to survive. With that assumption, they only tried to make him comfortable until he died, but he survived another freezing night alone in a tent, unable to eat, drink, or keep himself covered with the sleeping bags he was provided with.
>His cries for help could not be heard above the blizzard, and his companions were surprised to find him alive and coherent the following day.

Annapurna, K2, or Kanchenjunga, are actual death mountains. Everest is for rich assholes. When 78 year old men and 11 year old girls climb the mountain, it's not that impressive. It just means they have enough money to pay some brown person to carry all their gear for them, wake up super fucking early and climb ahead to put in ropes for them, and carry them back down.

i challenge any single person who's considering climbing everest to do it the same way Mallory or Hilary did it, and see if anyone actually has the balls, or if everyone climbing that mountain is a just an entitled rich pussy.

>you're a genius
Well at least I know where to put some capitalized letters every now and then. My point is Hillary would never have made the climb without local help and massive financial support, much like those rich assholes who do it nowadays.
>>
>>707635244
my point is that they didn't all go to the summit. only 2. and they had 44 lbs each.

It's not about who brings your shit to base camp, it's about who brings it from there to the top. these days, it's pussies with ultralight frames carrying 10 lbs while their sherpas haul the rest. in 1953, hilary and norgay carried their own 44 lb backpacks, going on a route that no one knew, without the benefit of ropes or ladders that someone else had pre-installed for them.

In comparison a large chunk of the climbers die, because as mentioned they're mostly self-made people with no serious climbing experience and no understanding what they're about to do. Then there's the offchance that you die anyway because the conditions get shit.

Imagine that you're at the south pole and you've got asthma. On top of that you've smoked hash and now you've got to trek 2000 feet to the next camp. So you're prety much running around with a bottle of oxygen. Oh yeah and you got to follow a line or you'll die. And if you stop you'll get pushed off by the winds and die.
And since you rely on your oxygen, you can't wait - or you'll die.
Also if you get tired you have to walk back, or you know, jump off.

That's everest once you get to camp 4.

Few things about mountaineering that are usually incorrectly talked about

1) Everest is tough. Yes, of course you can pay about 100k to have a sherpa do the vast majority of the work for you (which happens), but you still have to walk up the mountain.

But yes, I will concede that Everest has become significantly easier than it used to be because of commercialization.

2) There is more than one way up the mountain. There are generally two routes that people take up Everest. These are the safest two.

However, there are over a dozen different routes that you can take, some have never been summitted, some have extremely high death rates, some being over 100% (explained in point 3)

Most "safe" routes up a mountain are along one of the ridges, because it is the least steep (still ridiculously steep). Some routes tackle the face of the mountain, which is ludicrous.

3) Death rates are compared to the amount of those that summit. So when you see that K2 or Annapurna have a 25% death rate, that does not mean that 25% of all people that go on the mountain die -- instead, it refers to the total amount of deaths divided by the total summits.

This is because it is impossible to know how many people try to climb these mountains. We only know of the successful ones. And this is how there are certain routes on Everest that have >100% death rate.

Maximum altitude for turbine helicopters is about 20,000-25,000 feet. Everest is 29,000 feet.

Pretty sure that's what this guy was referring to. Even if there was a helicopter that could operate in the 30,000' range it would be prohibitively expensive and incredibly difficult to be able to recover bodies or equipment from the mountain.

Most helicopters under contract operating at much lower altitudes can costs thousands of dollars per hour. Imagine what it would cost to contract a helicopter to operate at 20,000' let along the cost of a rescue crew stupid enough to take at job to recover some dead kike.

im actually planning on climbing Denali. I'll buy my own gear, pull a sled to the camp and hike to the summit within 2 weeks. but i do have to pay a a guide team. im not rich, but im saving up money for a few years. i hike as often as i can and highly enjoy it. people who do Everest pay a lot of money to do something they love. it is crazy, but it is safer than letting anyone go up the mountain without a guide. the deathrate would be much higher.

You should shut your whore cunt mouth up you disgusting fuck. That is a female and no she wasen't ''jerking'' it she was gonna take a 1 minute break and was leaning at her backpack. The lack of oxygen made her sleep almost instantely when the body is in a resting position that high up and she never woke up again.

I have summited Everest, what the fuck have you summited? The stairs leading up to Wal-mart? Fuck out of here you disrespecting twat.
>>
>>707649151
6,190 meters but it is highest point in North America. In Alaska, due to it's position near the North Pole it has seen some of the coldest temps in the world.

No sherpas here. I carry all my own gear. The mountain does have anchored ropes already though. Like i said, from the point where a plane drops me off, i pull a sled to the first camp. (may take more than 1 trip.) then start hikig my gear up to the higher camps which will take several trips. I carry everything on my own. The guide is there to make sure I dont fall down a crevace and as a medical help.

How long have most of these bodies been there? Does the cold and lack of oxygen keep them decomposing extremely slowly?
