Gotta say, i do not make music for money, or glory. Just for fun, and mostly for myself. I share some "decent" work to SoundCloud, and even got EP released on Spotify and so on...-OP

Bards of Antiquity use MIDI drums programmed in Anvil (free online), then processed through a soft synth in Reaper. Casio P.O.S. run through MIDI cables provides Violins, Organ, etc.
Record vocals, guitar and bass direct with amp simulators.

Soundcloud? Seriously?
Why aren't you dopes on Youtube like everyone else? Is this like the music version of hipsters where everyone sticks with whatever they started with until it becomes cool again? Like Betamax video tapes? Or are you all just that out of touch with the industry?

Soundcloud is a popular way to share tracks. Blogs and other reviewers use it.
The Bards of Antiquity are on Youtube, iTunes, Spotify and nearly everywhere else.
>>707518582
Not my style by a long shot and yet very well done and pleasant to hear. Great work
>>707518272
I cant speak for eveyone but I'm not sure most of us even think about the industry.
For me it's there for people to hear, data should be free- creativity is priceless.
Listening to music being made is more entertaining than the pieces themselves.

>>707508645
So OP, what is your favorite VST? I've been using massive and serum for ages but have recently really gotten into Spire
https://soundcloud.com/frequenpsy-shift/tracks
Come hang shit on my poorly written and repetitive music
https://soundcloud.com/gilgafrank/sets/modular-synth
fucking about with the modular synth
>>707531580
I really like your setup.
You must have a lot of fun with that synth.
>>707531863
the modular is brilliant, I just fuck around making strange sounds on it all day and never get round to making any serious music with it. Plus I spend half my time building new modules for it, it's a black hole to throw money and time into for very little return.
>>707532143
Lucky man.
I've been using SynthEdit quite a bit, building a vst is a lot of fun but no where near as cool as hardware.
The only interesting hardware I have is an ARP Axxe which I somehow got given for free about 10 years ago. Poor old thing doesn't work though, the tuning is fucked and none of the envelopes work. When I've got some cash I intend on getting it running again. Only 1 Osc but still a lovely fat sound. It's the one with the original moog filter.
https://soundcloud.com/user-64600036
https://www.soundcloud.com/kievaughn/aquamarine
>>707532559
If the tuning is off you should be able to adjust the oscillator scaling with a trimpot somewhere inside. Not difficult, whip the cover off and get a service manual. When you use analog synths you often have to be a bit handy with electronics, the ADSR's may be a simple fix too and any ARP synth is well worth repairing.
Get it fixed, get a MIDI to CV/gate unit and make some sounds on it.
