"I don't know. I'll ask the cook" Says the server.
"It is breaded. It says breaded chicken in the menu." I tell the server.
"Will they notice if it's breaded?" Asks the server.
"Yes. Yes they would."

My experiences with service people is when they ask if you need help, they're asking out of courtesy. Most experiences I've had show they don't actually want to help. If I need help, I ask for it and I don't wait for someone else to ask.

Back in high school I sold T shirts on Duval street in Key West. Every day a nearby local pier at Mallory Square would play host to people viewing the sunset. It was a tourist event if there ever was one.
I had a dumb bitch ask me how many times per day they held the "sunset ritual". I looked at her like it was a trick question.
"Ummm.....only once. At sunset..." She walked away and didn't say anything.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across theUSAand your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

If you take the time to invest your full attention to the vapid bullshit spewed in your general direction by every tom, dick, and harry who thinks "the customer is always right" refers to their feelings and opinions rather than the bottom line of the company, you're on the fast track to burning out.
I would nod, smile, listen to key words, and toss a non-threatening witticism (from a repetoire of about 15) at them as they left.
If you can make someone laugh, (dumb or smart as they may be) they are instantly disarmed and feel pleasantly affirmed. Only chumps devote themselves to what is essentially a dead-end job.
tl;dr I don't actually listen, so I couldn't tell you. I'm sure it was quite stupid.

Yeah, it just took them a few days. Also had the same guy send an e-mail asking me the impossible. They make between one and 20 orders a day. Some as small as .3 lbs. They wanted me to seperate the orders on seperate pallets WHILE maximizing truck cubing space. Also got mad because they ordered 2 lbs of shit and instead of putting it on it's own truck, I sent it UPS to save them a few hundred bucks. It got there at 11 am instead of 7:30 am.

lol, reminds me of ace hardware. I go in, a floor worker asks what I need. I ask where the bulk hose is. The pay by the foot stuff, you know. They tell me they don't have that kind of stuff. I say ok, I'll just look around. Then I go to the back of the store, where the bulk hose is, find the box knife someone left at the station, cut my 3 feet of automatic dishwasher hose, put a label with length sku and price on it and go pay for it. While I'm paying the floor worker notices and I can almost hear him thinking, where in the fuck did he find that.

I dont care if you know what I'm looking for or not. A fucking sign in the shop will do your useless job better and more efficient than you anyway.
I just dont want to be bothered everytime I enter a store. Sometimes people are just looking around with nothing particular they want to buy.
Then one of you bored shitheads comes and asks the same stupid question you have asked a million times in your "career" already and people have to fake a smile and say "oh. Im just looking around" or "oh dont worry, I know where it is"
you are cancer
Customer walks in literally 2 minutes before closing time followed by her retard spawn covered in so much fake tan they look like oompa loompas they're all wearing the exact same clothes since we're not allowed to hurry the customers along she takes 45 minutes when she finally gets to the till and after I've scanned her stuff and finally begins to leave I say "have a nice night miss" as I say with everyone all of a sudden she stops dead in her tracks and turns to screaming at the top of her lungs "what the fuck did you say to me and my children?" I repeat what I said all of a sudden she goes ballistic calling me a liar then she starts pulling shit out of her carrier bags to throw at me at this time the children are cowering in fear and empty their bladders all over the floor my manager some how sneaks up behind her and restrains her so I can call the bobbies when they arrive she's arrested and I tell them what happened and she's taken away when the kids father arrives a slob of a man who looks as if he inhales gravy on a regular basis in the end the man apologises for his wife and gives me £100 for my troubles and long story short bitches be crazy
Pretty much 1 out of 5 calls I answer every day, it's "hey, are you open today?"
No dumbass, I'm just here answering phones for my health when we're closed.
Then even worse than that, about 1 out of every 3 calls are for the building next door which has a phone number completely different, and customers get mad because I can't do whatever they want even though they called the wrong office.

Once in a while you get a nice person that just hit big on a slot machine and has to take a royal piss and asks you to watch his machine for him and gives you a few dollars, but that literally means nothing when you have to share that those few dollars to every other security guard across 3 shifts, plus supervisors.

Oh, they didn't need it then. It was just a ship today order. Which means I ship it out that day. I'm not in charge of when a truck gets there. I'm not UPS, FedEx or any other transportation company. The complaint isn't even a real one. Another one of my favorites-
>>"why aren't there shipping labels on things you don't package?"
>"I didn't package them. No shipping manifest prints. It shouldn't be necessary unless you start sharing shipping with another company for some reason."
>>"How do we know what order it's from then, huh?"
>"Don't you have order manifests?"
>>"What?"
>"A list of what you bought..."
>>"We don't know what we bought."
>"Uh............ Right."
I wound up labeling every box with THEIR order number and writing down every order that was physically on a pallet. On the paperwork, in the computer and physically on the pallet. Because they don't know what they order.

Sure m8, i did.
If you actually know what you're doing with a PC (at least built a few and config a router)
You can join an IT temp company like TekSystems, Robert Half, or Kelly.
Just look whats around you, sometimes there's regional tek temp businesses too, those are better and less corporate.
Every temp job you get (basically setting up 50 workstations at a new business or moving computers and re-setting them up at a new building, whatever the client needs, its mostly shit work) remember to put that on your resume with big words so it at least sounds like you have experience and know what you're doing.
...sorry, Baez just homered. had to freak out for a sec...
After you do a bunch of temp jobs you can start applying for assistant admin jobs and help desk.
Just remember to keep adding what you do to your resume.
This is exactly how i got into the biz 15 years ago.
I now have a lot of certs only because the companies i've worked for paid for me to get them.

People who call themselves Christians with pomp and pride typically aren't.
People who show compassion and have a genuine concern for their fellow man without needing to advertise it typically are.
This is why I don't describe myself a Christian. Though when push comes to shove, that's certainly what I am.

Customers usually cave if the money required is less than a bill. Things like "$95" "15" "7" and "3" are great numbers because theyre all just under a bill. What i do in sales is I throw out a weird number like "175" so that way they are more inclined to do a debit card instead of math and i dont have to count the intake money at the end of the day.

I don't mind risk. but ass rape cannibalism by 300 skinnys isn't my thing. I also didn't have the language skills or the medical training to call my own shots.

we still have a responsibility to share the word. its a tough road to tow. But when the time comes to spread the word, it will be obvious when its time.

There's a difference bebtween dealing with the common man and dealing with people that were specifically hired by their company to deal with the people that were hired by Their company to interact with each other on behalf of their respective companies.
The common man is stupid and doesnt understand how jobs work.

>go to Wal-Mart
>Minimum wage employee asks me if i needed help to find something
>say yes since they moved stuff around
> points in a direction and says "its over there"
>look where hes pointing and realize it encompasses literally 6 different sections of goods, not helping me at all
>mfw he walks away
> mfw that's all the training a retail employee gets in regards of helping people.

I got paid $5.25 an hour plus commision. Shit was awesome. They paid me just to make sure they had an experienced tech around in case the hourly guys didn't know what to do. If I made a lot of money already, I'd just chill in the breakroom and play Pokemon while the hourly guys changed oil. It was great how many people would just pull up and ask me to retorque their wheels. They don't buy anything, I don't get paid, but they want 5 minutes of my time for free. And I had to do it. What happens when you'RE driving down the road that makes you go "SHIT MY LUGS NEED TO BE RETORQUED RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!"
>Work as an apprentice butcher in a supermarket for a bit.
>Customer walks into the butchery (which they're not allowed to do) holding two bottles of milk.
>I ask what's up and why they're here.
>"Do you know the difference between these two milks?"
>Not really. Say I don't know
>"You should know."
>I'm very confused. "Why's that?" I reply
>"You work with cows don't you?"
>"Please leave".

I once worked at a tourist trap restaurant in Savannah. sometimes I’d get put in the office and to answer the phone.
>guy calls, says he's nearby but isn't sure
>"ok sir, do you know what road you’re on?"
>"I- uh- there are a lot of trees."
>…
savannah has trees everywhere.
>"do you know what direction you’re going in?"
>"I uh, I see a bridge."
>after some detective work I find where he is. nowhere near us. not even close.
>but super simple directions to get back
>"just turn around, drive a couple miles, turn right on Barnard st, follow it all the way downtown to the restaurant."
>"uh…"
>"turn around, make a right on Barnard."
I hang up, having saved this old man.
>he calls back 1 min later
>he needs reassurance or thinks I'm lying or something
>I reassure him
>he then calls me at the first square.
>I explain the road didn't end, it is just a tiny park you drive around
>he drives around it.
>he calls me at every time he has to drive around a square, thinking the road ended.
>pic attached of his route.
From people with a NASA badge meaning they literally work at NASA. Across the street at Fudruckers a burger place had some ask is a 1/3 lbs or 1/2 lbs burger bigger?

Because I'll ask if I need help. Stop interrupting my thought process. Most of the time I'm looking at shit to think about how or if it can get a job done, not because I don't find something. Also every. single. time I accept the help offered I have to explain half of my project, virtually draw a blueprint in the air to somehow get across the specific situation I need something for and then realize you spastics couldn't understand what I'm talking about if your life depended on it, not without actually seeing it anyways. The only time I ask is for specifics "Do you carry this particular special screw?", "Where are the water hoses?" and the likes.

Commission is the best way to get paid ever. I've had a salary job and an hourly job. But commission is by far the most fun and rewarding. It makes me want to actually work. Yeah slow times suck so it requires saving up which is tough since its hard to budget with numbers that change. But its fun.
I make $15/hr, personal commission, and store commission for being a manager. So i see about 3-5k/mo on average. But id take a strictly commission based job. What a thrill
>>707004293
I walked away from that line 24 years ago. I think I'm good.

Why is it that the most obnoxious cunts are always fucking fat? EVERY TIME I see people arguing with staff it's sweaty fatties.

>closed my till one night
>all stores vary a little bit, but my tills have to have $100, $150, and $200 in the drawer to close
>allowed a variance of $~2 because it's a bitch to break a $20 for .79
>anyways, closed my tills, check out for the night
>come in the next day for my closing shift
>lady working at the till that morning talks to me before she leaves
>"just wanted to let you know that your till was short by $70 this morning"
>I call bullshit, I double/triple count my tills every night I close
>get super paranoid about my tills for the remainder of my employment (accepted a different job)
>found out from a former coworker that one of my coworkers got caught stealing money from the tills
>about $300 over the course of a few months
>I want to track this bitch down so I can knock her teeth out

Or they're old. Fuck old people. I hate milenials for being entitled, but by far baby boomers are the most entitled generation of all time. I'm unfortunate enough to run a store in a rich old people town. One where the local McDonald's has a "sorry, we no longer accept $100 bills" sign out front.

This is the story of the Turbo Button.
Once upon a time, computers were even shittier than the shitty computers that had a turbo button. On these computers, counting to 1000 in a loop was a reasonable way to perform a delay, and didn't require the machine to set up waitstates with the system clock. Very efficient. Very clean. Then came a new kind of computer chip! It ran much faster! And for many programs, this was a good thing! But there were still programs, perhaps games you enjoyed, where if you tried to run it as fast as the computer wanted to go, you would just slam directly into a wall and die the instant you hit go.
Testing showed that a "Suck" button you turned on to slow the computer back down was unappealing. But a "Turbo" button you turned "on" to "speed up" the computer by turning off suck mode sounded really cool!
So that's what they did.
I work at fucking sears and some fat fucking dude in a wheelchair started asking me about the restrooms and after 5 min he asked if he could go into the womens restroom and I told him no and he said thanks and wheeled the fuck away

I've been offered commission jobs before, but I can't take the uncertainty of a slow week, even if 3 weeks of good weeks would make up for it. I'd rather take steady pay at a lower rate, just for the safety of knowing I can save $20 a month or so
>>707005276
Maybe old people like meth?

I bet they only sell summer sausage in the summer, huh faggot?

Hon, this life is a rough business. You have to be strong to get by. I sympathize, but the world is an open ocean and the ocean is full of sharks. And sharks just wanna eat, and the weak are the first to be consumed.
This is for your benefit... there's no hate here.
But your own sake, toughen up, ffs.

Blame it on your shitty competition for making the distinction.

i know shitty counterfeiters do, that's for sure. they will literally try to counterfeit anything
>>707005360
It depends entirely on where you live. I live in a good place where I know that even a slow month nets me $200-500 mad money. But if I lived in my old hometown? I'd barely make enough to live.
