The dungeons, overworld, puzzles, and items in LTTP are solid, but not particularly outstanding for a Zelda game. Awakening and the Oracle games do most of that stuff better.
LTTP might have the best combat in a Zelda game, though. It's probably the second-hardest Zelda combat (after Zelda II). They also give you lots of combat-related upgrades, the items have plenty of combat uses, and the MP system makes their use much more tactical because everything has a limited use.
It's a great Zelda game, maybe even the best game on the SNES. And for fans of combat in Zelda, it's probably your favorite Zelda. But I don't think it's a perfect game.
