Well it depends on the headcanon, for some people the choosing of a poopie baby because of bad coloring, is programmed into the fluffies. So even in the wild they would spend their early life in poop and most likely dying.
In other headcanon, this is a taught trait and thus some fluffy herds will be free of it. Which give earth toned fluffies a chance to survive based on their color.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I've always imagined them, at least the adults, sounding like 4 to 6 year old kids in part because I've imagined that they've also got the intelligence and mental maturity of said 4 to 6 year old kids, which also, at least to me, would explain some of the poor decisions they make, and the cruelty they sometimes commit upon each other.
After all, kids can sometimes get up to some of the worst cruelty without even knowing that what they're doing is wrong, unless someone else corrects them, whether that be another child or an adult.
