What about an anonymous torrent-like CDN supported by us? Every time you open a pic or vid in your browser, it goes cached and downloaded by multiple users, reliefing the traffic from the main site. There is already a tag that uniquely identifies files, so if the file is there somewhere (think about how magnet links work for torrent), just use that instead of redownloading it a gorillion times.
Let's face it, 2% of the content is OC, 98% is just a repost of a repost of a repost, and we end up watching the same video or pic every time, just for the keks. But every time we do this, we're hammering 4chan's server, generating unnecessary traffic.
Bonus point is resilience. After just one person got that video or pic, it is impossible to delete because he will be sharing already with everyone else.
This would probably only work on desktops and not mobile (it will need additional software to connect to tor or similar for anonimity, and require a lot of bandwidth, since you are sharing data with others) but it could help, and also show our support to this site.

Cut down or delete the thread archive function.
Do NOT cut boards like /pol/, /vg/, etc. because their users will just flock to other boards and ruin them.
The goal is to bring traffic down. If people who *only* use/know /b/ then nothing will be lost, same for if people who just come here to post porn have to find somewhere else.
