I mostly used Normal Magic, but sometimes Lunar. I rarely used Ancient Magick, because I simply was NOT a pker, except occasionally in some minigames.
When the game started moving AWAY from deep lore and more towards combat and combat-based crap, I started losing interest.
During that update, I supported Free Trade, but I wasn't a fan of the Wilderness.
Once it went through, though, the community took a shit drop even faster than it was before.
I think the last good quest was that one where you got the Ivandis Flail and could visit Sanguinisti. Although the one where you got that new mining area in the Dwarven City (Keldagrim?) was ok, but it felt like it shoulda been more Intrigue and not ended in Combat.
They never went through with my Construction overhaul, either. Instead, they took the best ideas and dumped them into the Clan Citadels, which sucked ass.
And although I felt the swearing ban was too much with censors and mutes, I didn't really like when they added it into quests; it kinda fucked up the aesthetic.
Overall, the GAME was good; the management was NOT.

New combat was complete garbage at release, auto attacks did jackshit, forcing you to spam basic abilities which had to be manually be pressed by your keybinds, later they made three different modes

OSRS started as a straight port of the 2007 servers, but they've added so much to the game, base all new changes on community feedback. Everything is polled, 75% in favour for a pass, weekly hours long q&a's. The game is now a seperate entity.

I used to be a solo player.
The only things I got together with others for were minigames and clan activities.
However, my clan was ridiculous. Eventually, it broke down into like 3 active members, 4 or so other people who were never on when I was, and like 8 people who never talked because they were fricking macroers.
I was in that clan and its predecessors for years. Started with like Anakin1000 or something, than Savior something. Forgot who the last leader was or even what it ended up being called, tho.
But, either way, other than activities, I hated playing with people unless they were like real life friends or just training near them and chatting.
Dungeoneering was.... not only my least favorite skill (I downright hated it; it was terrible), but it was an objectively bad and retardedly designed feature.
And the fact that it had such good rewards (of which I never gained any (only wanted the water book, b/c I was a Water Mage - & now I waifud Cirno, XDdddd*) because you could never get a decent team...)
Team-forced skills should NEVER be done.
I would NEVER do that in any game I make. Skills should be FOR the individual, but you CAN do it with others IF YOU LIKE.
But skills designed FOR the group are a massive fucking mistake

I just used it as a click-farm game.
Farming everything from ores, woods, EXP, lobsters. All that. Even if I could remember my old log in info I probably wouldn't play.
But if we all decide to jump on OSRS I wouldn't be against it, even if I had to start at Tutorial Island again.
I do remember doing quests tho, those were pretty fun. And dragon equipment being locked behind certain quests gave incentive to do them.

But here's a basic rundown of something fundamental : Warframe acquisition.

>All of these components, except the Cell, can be obtained on Planet XXX by killing the Boss a minimum of 3 times for each component
>The Neuroptics take 5000 Salvage, 350 Rubedo, 2 Neurodes, and 10k Credits
>The Systems take 5000 Salvage, 400 Plastids, 2 Nitain, and 15k Credits
>The Chassis takes 7500 Salvage, 2 Argon Crystals, and 1000 Cryotic, and 20k Credits
>Every piece takes 12 hours to build, or you can spend anywhere from 5 - 10 plat to "Rush" the process
>So, now you have all 3 components and the Orokin Cell
>Now you must buy the blueprint from the Marketplace, that's another 15k Credits
>TIME TO BUILD THAT WARFRAME!

Someone who spent over 5 years playing a game, racking up 220 days of playtime and then quitting, because it went to shit.
I spent hours calculating skill requirements, memorizing almost every detail of the map. I had access to well over 90% of it, too.
I had 3 99's (FM, WC, and Cooking, and was like 97 Magic by the time I quit)
I could efficiently get anywhere and do almost every task (except proper PvP - I went from Def-Pure/Tank to Mage-Tank, and before I quit I WAS gonna balance, but never got to it.)
My lowest skill when I left was like 71, and I had nearly 2100 total (out of 2496 max at the time)
I fucking sperged out even with my house. I spent HOURS redesigning my place so there was literally ONE door in and out of the house, simply because I wanted it to feel protected (and mostly, because assholes kept opening all the doors not near the portals when I invited people in)
My fucking CONSTRUCTION was like 86. I spent TENS OF MILLIONS levelling it up, and since I was NOT a combat-type primarily, that wasn't generally easy.
So, someone who literally spent 1/8 of their life (not just waking time, but LIFE) between 6th and early 12th grade playing a game that they would ultimately quit in a single day.

I went about the whole game the hard way, because I played to live like I was in an adventure world, not just to plow through monsters. Combat, other than magic (which COSTS money) was always my least favorite method of making cash.
My luck was also shit, in that I think the most expensive drop I ever got was like 900K (a shield left half)

I used to cut Magic Trees outside that elf village (and constantly failed those damn Agility checks...)
