It helps it to not be tangled and be healthier, but it doesn't change the growth. Unless you are really rough with your hair then suddenly stop nothing will change. The length of one's hair when fully grown out is determined by genetics, and there isn't really any way to change it, which pisses me off because I want it to be much longer.
